Wowww nearly 2 years later they managed to roll out 1 CKD unit. Reminds me of the topi drama CKD unit MG HS rolled out a few months ago.

You can always have a ckd as pkdm if it has to be a public display. We will belive them when atleast 10 to 20 pkdms are seen.

Nahh, they're poles apart. MG is a lost cause in Pak.

On the other hand, if AlHaj can get its act together and maintain good production numbers in the future, it can do real damage with the X70 and planned X50 in the future. But that's a BIG if.

As per available information, around 30 X70 are already produced this month and will be shipped to dealers in next few weeks after in factory testing for display and test drives . Production line ramp up will start by March for increased production.

If they had 30, they would have made a thousand pics of them . Its definitely the only assembled unit like 2008.

The one single unit you see is obviously for marketing and launch purpose. I have been told by GM marketing who has been kind enough sharing details with me for a very long time and I shared here in this and Saga thread as well with screenshots.

As per current plan, the CKD will be shipped in next few weeks but because of restriction from government because of Covid, it might get little late. I will try to get more info ASAP.

Confusing part is ruby red was not available in AWD variant... And this ruby red has no sun roof +18" rim pattern so must be a awd variant!!!!

Just a correction to my earlier comment.

Commercial production will start next month and that will also carry first batch to be sent to dealers. At this time less than 10 units are rolled out and all these will remain at factory premises for various testing purposes. The first RED unit is also not a commercial product.

These test units will be evaluated mechanically, quality and other QC and will be signed off by Proton Malaysia engineering / production team .

The first commercial batch will be for approx 30 units and that will also be start of CKD for consumers.

I also heard from islamabad dealorship that price inc of 4 to 5 lac is expected....
Such price inc after wait of more than one yr will be suicidal for the coy but anything can be expected from this unprofessional coy who dont even respond to its customers on its official email adress...
My question is what options are left to respond to such huge price inc after they have kept initial payment for more than one yr from genuine buyers like me???
Such lawlessness can only happen here otherwise ppl would have put them to task elsewhere...

I think like they did with CBUs, Alhaj will honor the earlier prices for most existing ckd bookings.
But sadly, a price increase for future bookings is inevitable and (somewhat) understandable.

I don't think they will sell at old prices, even for previous bookings. It's not possible if we look at current dollar price and ocean freight rates.
