ASAK all,
This is my first post here. I've been living in the USA for most of my life and I've been interested in cars for many years.
One of my relatives in Pakistan has a choice to buy either a Daihatsu Mira eS or a Daihatsu Move. He's asking for my input on which of the two he should purchase. I'm not sure if either of these are brand new vehicles, but they are certainly no more than a few years old if they are pre-owned. There are a couple of similar threads on this forum (Mira vs. Move) but they are several years old and might no longer be relevant.
Doing some research online, it seems that the Move and Mira eS are based on the same platform. Therefore, they have the same length, width, and wheelbase. They also seem to share the same engine and transmission. The primary difference is that the Move is several inches taller. However, I have not been able to determine whether the seats are mounted higher in the Move vs. the Mira eS. Does anyone know if this is the case?
If the seats are mounted at the same level as the Mira eS, I don't see much of an advantage going with the Move, as higher seating would provide more comfort and easier ingress/egress from the vehicle. Stylistically, I feel the Mira eS looks more balanced, but if the Move is more comfortable due to its taller dimensions, I think he should go with the Move. On the other hand, the Move will probably weigh a little bit more than the Mira ES, which might affect acceleration and fuel economy in a negative manner.
Any feedback you all can provide would be helpful, as we haven't had Daihatsu vehicles in the US for many years. Thanks.
