PSP VS Ipod Touch

Title says it all. To tech gurus, this thread may sound as stupid as "SWIFT VS CIVIC" but i don't know anything about the two so please ignore.

I need an interesting gadget basically to keep me occupied during long and boring journeys. Please support your recommendations with reasoning. Which of these two offers best value for money? Can one gadget serve all purpose? Say if i need to play games can ipod touch offers what PSP does? If i want to listen to music or browse internet, can PSP offer what IPOD touch does?

Ipod is more compact (Almost one third of the size of a PSP). Plus its not just a game player, its a whole office on the go : unexpectedly, I loved the typing and browsing experience on iPod more than my favorite s60 platform.

deel_ee ipod touch needs wifi to browse but still we cant find wifi hot spots for browsing and as far as music is there ipod touch is best in this class and apps are in millions and games are there but still touch based

psp can serve u as a great gaming portable console with emulators to play n64,snes,sega, psx and new tittles with the keys there is no comparison with the psp in terms of games and in videos i think psp will serve u better and songs too but its not a true mp3 player

i will choose psp over ipod touch because it serves my needs ( games and movies
because i can enjoy my journey without internet with this gadget

Secondly, how do u download games (and apps) on ipod touch without having to buy through apple store. (again, please ignore my naiveté )

psp also need wifi for browsing but i mean to say for ipod and psp u need wifi if you travel alot there are no chances to get the wifi right ? so for ipod touch you have to jailbreak and install the apps through wifi etc

and for psp you have to connect the psp with data cable and put the games which are in iso and cso format in to the folder of psp and thats it ... there is a website www . psp isoz . com (without spaces ) you can download any game and put into it

Whats diff between PSP go and PSP 3000? Which one is better?
Also do u have any idea about price in pakistan? I am out of pakistan right now and if difference isnt much i might buy (whatever i decide to buy) from here.

As lovesh mentioned, you just hack your iPod (jailbreaking or whatever fancy name you want) and there are programs like installous which offer all the games/softwares which may be installed in your unlocked iPod.

difference between the psp go and psp3000 is psp3000 is an old model than psp go and psp go have no umd (disk) option i think and as far as i know psp go has no hack so it cant play the games illegally but legally and psp 3000 can be hacked and i will suggest you to buy psp 3000 because psp go have sliding factor and big screen sliding factor is not durable and many people are still buying psp 3000 as it is more reliable then psp go and there are alot of homebrews in psp by which you can play on ur pc screen as well via usb you dont need any tv out cable ..

And yes, in iPod gaming comes as an added goodie, it won't be fair to compare its gaming capabilities with a purpose built gaming platform. Though it is impressive.

Hi,I have currently both iphone(exact as ipod touch but a phone) and a psp.I think it depends entirely on what you want from your gadget.If you want a more productive gadget,say for managing your office pdf files and reading them on the go,then i would suggest the touch.Thats not to say that it doesnt do anything else.It has an awesome UI and its much easier and seamless to use then the pc.The psp is definitely a better entertainment device overall.It plays games and movies much better then the ipod touch and has a bigger screen.The biggest advantage of the iphone is its touchscreen,web browser and the vast never ending library of apps.It depends on what is more important to you.Web browser and ease of use,Or games and movies.

If you ask me,I liked the psp much better as I liked casual gaming and watching movies on it.But I also love my iphone and I can honestly say it is one of the best phones Ive ever had.

Sir there is an iphone/ipodtouch app known as backgrounder with which you can minimize apps and do multitasking.
