Ptcl Internet issue, help needed

My current set up is the ptcl router+modem used as a modem which is then connected to a tp link router. The problem I face is slow connectivity at time and delayed response at times. I think this maybe due to the fact that the modem I'm using is of sub par quality, it's what ptcl provides so you get the idea. Usually my router works with 5 device connected to Wifi with sometimes the number increasing to 8. Will changing the router improve anything?

The most low spec tp link even supports data transfer of 250mbs so that is not the issue.. Its your exchange issue or maybe you have too many joints in your ptcl phone line

Not modem issue as per me, even i sometimes face same issue and its resolved by resetting model.. I have ptcl wifi modem

I am also witnessing data loss or connectivity issues on ptcl since a couple of days.. I think its at the exchange end .. U can double check it by connecting a laptop through lan cable.. If the problem persists then its ptcl from back end..

dial 1218 and complaint for modem as "modem malfunctioning goes dead randomly" and request for modem upgrade. The new PTCL land line modem is wifi built-in, the lineman will bring new unit and take away old modem. Your personal wifi router will remain your property

The line in my house but they do have the fiber thing in my area. I think it only runs till the exchange and from the it's copper. While setting up the modem for the first time 3 years back there were two values you had to insert and I had to insert those valve corresponding to fiber and not copper.

these are very good values, nothing wrong in it, please do the following

please recheck your VPI/VCI settings
for copper values are
VPI(0-255): 0
VCI(32-65535): 103

For Fiber cable customers use VPI= 8 and VCI= 81

i think you have fibre line so please insert values accordingly, you can confirm them from ptcl help line

change your dns to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.0.0

ptcl also have this issue on backend, on every time load shedding(light goes) the speed effects and need a hard reset , this effects some exchanges and not all.regardless if you have a UPS or not as its an exchange issue
