I pulled the hand brake too far and heard a tick sound likely breaking of something.After that, my hand brake stopped working and I pulled it downwords and the hand brake light turns off on the meter.Can I drive the car to the mechanic with this issue?What seems to be the problem with my hand brake.

is the vehicle driveable or are the rear wheels locked?
Sounds like a cable snapped or something in the system itself let go, like a spring or something.
If the wheels aren't locked up or stuck on, you can drive. But ensure when vehicle is parked, you shut off and leave it in gear so it won't roll away.
