Punjab biometric vehicle issue

Hi guys,

I need help regarding biometric process. I am planning to sell my car (punjab registered). The new purchaser is insisting that he needs biometric verification. I bought the car through open transfer 5 years ago from someone in gujrat. I live in KP and purchaser is also from KP. The purchaser says that he will keep hold of Rs 50000/- out of total amount until the biometric verification is completed.

Question is what is would be the process now and whether delayed biometric verifying process costs Ra 50K.

the buyer is right and doing the right thing
actually you are liable to provide the biometric of owner

and the owner still entertains you guys

Buyer is totally right , if it would have been someone in my circle i would have suggested them to hold a minimum of 100k

It’s a huge mistake on YOUR PART of not getting vehicle transferred on your name for 5 YEARS!!!!!

Okay i admit mistake on my part. Now how much would it cost me to get biometric verification done.

It may get resolved easily by putting some efforts and contacting the potential owner for biometric otherwise it might cost you an arm or a leg

I would suggest you to contact the potential owner (car is still officially in his ownership) and request him to give you the biometric verification

So lets say the orginal documented owner refused my request and also i dont want to get the previous owner involved in this mess. How much would it cost me now to get the car verified and get new documentations.

If he refuses, you’re in a mess then

Have no idea how much would an agent charge you for fake biometrics ( if that’s possible)

Normally agents are in cahoots with the excise people and as govt. allowed cars to be transferred for a certain people who do not have the previous owners in reach e.g. if they are dead or out of country. This means that the excise people have the ability to get that info for you as they have the NIC access from NADRA. I think an agent can get the job done.

I know some1 who knows some1 in punjab . He is saying he can get the job done for 7000/-.

I chkd with another person he is saying he cant get everything verified including biometric for 20k. With a guarantee that MV dept punjab guys posted at bhakkar entrance from KP will not harass you or ask you anything.

The person who is asking for 7000/- is saying that he can get verified docs direct from lahore excise without car inspection.

Yup all is happening in excise these days. I would suggest to get the car to your name (give new owner copy of the receipt) and tell the buyer that he can transfer when your new car arrives (pay a fast processing fee). In this way the buyer will be satisfied and you will no longer have the issue and you will know that the method works. If it doesn't work don't pay the person. Once the vehicle is transferred to your name and then to the new owner the new owner cannot complain if in future there is an issue.
The last car i bought was like this. The guy clearly told me that the car was in family and was on his brothers name, he is getting it transferred to his name and when the card comes he will give me the card.
I did the whole payment and took all original docs from him after consultation with my agent and verifying the documents and car with police. I had the car and the docs and the transfer papers and pictures of car transfer and him handing me papers as proof. As soon as the card came the guy called me and i transferred the car to my name. One extra owner will be added but that's not a real issue if the car is good.
