Punjab New Biometric Car Transfer Process?

Hi, I transferred my car to someone. We followed the process of initiating the transfer application through the excise and taxation mobile app. The challan was generated and the amount of tax was paid through the mobile app. We got the text message that the payment has been made and the biometric has to be done.

Both of us the went to the selected excise and taxation office and got our biometric done. Its been almost 3 weeks now. However, once I verify the car registration online against the car registration number it shows the status of transfer as 'pending inspection'.

How long does it take for the inspection to complete? As, I am aware that the process has to be done within 30 days. Otherwise, the process will have to be done again and the tax will have to be paid again. The biometric guy looked a bit confused, maybe he did not complete the biometric process the right way and thats why its still showing pending inspection?

Anyone who has gone through the new process and can guide me, I will be grateful. Thank you.

Who does the physical inspection? do I have to take it to someone.. or will the excise and taxation people come and inspect themselves? and if the status is at pending inspection.. does that mean that biometric step is cleared?

Not sure about Punjab but in case of Islamabad, the inspection team is present nearby the excise office. One needs to get it inspected before submitting all forms.

Before they use to skip inspection part in Punjab and simply mark inspection done but I went to excise RWP couple of weeks ago and saw few cars lined up inside I guess they were conducting inspection I am not sure though.

Now chayee pani might be needed for car not available for inspection

Can you please tell who has to initiate transfer process or pay fee on app? Buyer or seller or anyone?

Buyer and seller needs to do all the steps mutually, 1st buyer has to make a transfer request from app and generate PSID and pay transfer fee via Jazz cash, Easy Paisa or 1 Link ATM, than Seller needs to visit any Nadra E-Sahulat Point to do Bio-Metric Confirmation to initiate Transfer than Buyer needs to confirm it by doing Bio-Metric, after than its up to Excise Department, they will send new registration Card to the address buyer has given in App during making transfer request.

What is the update?
I also had applied to transfer two bikes in my name.
For one it's showing card printing. Doe other it's showing inspection. Pending.

So one thing is that inspection isn't donw at least for bikes.
No idea how long will it take. The site must be descriptive enough to guide us what to do or expect.

My inspection status was cleared right at the 30 day mark. Now it show card in printing. You just have to get the biometric done. Afterwards its up to the authorities to complete the process.

salam, in my case i did not do the biometric as no one asked me for it. only the seller's biometric was taken. My status still shows pending inspection, can anyone confirm that this is how it is supposed to be done or did I make a mistake?

Biometric of both buyer and seller are required against the ticket number of transfer to complete the process.

I saw a few adds that mention 'owners biometric done'. New biometric has to be done against the tracking number that is generated once transfer of ownership has been generated by taking documents to excise with the name and details of new owner.

Exactly I recently transferred my Lahore number Altis to new owner located in Peshawar and it was smooth process buyer pays fee and then both need to biometric at Nadra sahulat center or excise office and in 1 month time record gets updated in between they perform different steps and status keeps on changing as per process.

@abdullahkhn681907 when you take vehicle to excise office did the inspector checked the vehicle or you show car documents in office?

Initially it wasn't. No visit was required.

Now visit is required and filling firm f and inspection is done. Same old processe.

I sold my car ; new buyer is not initiating the biometric process ; he says he will do it after 2 months ; reason not known ; he has the registration etc ; payment full done ; can I initiate the biometric process from my side as a seller ; or what else I do

You can go to the police station and submit a written application that i have sold the car but buyer is not initiating the transfer and using delay tectics.

Your biometric is valid only for 1 month i think. Tell him you will not again do biometric and will charge him if he asks you to do it again. Before doing this, get a stamp paper, mention that car is sold and get him signed by him.
