Wait a minute.

There is no proposed "alteration" to Rule 3. Only Admin has the right to make those changes, and only they can make interpretive considerations.

Rule 3 in its present form as implemented is exactly as determined by Admin.

End of story.

Yes, I'm referring to your post.

Let me use an analogy here to relate to what you're saying. What you are saying is that if a traffic signal shows red, you may proceed and disregard it if there are no cars coming up. And that it should only be considered a violation of the rule if a car comes and hit you after you've ignored the red light. But that isn't the rule, is it? The rule is that you stop at a red light, car or no car.

Rules are there for the benefit of everyone. Here, they are in place so that the purpose of the healthy, informative forums (the road from our earlier example) can be fulfilled and kept clear of problems such as religious and political debates (the accidents on the road).

As it is members have a big problem with the controls moderators enforce, how would you expect moderators to monitor and judge where a religious discussion will turn into an argument? And given the sensitive nature of these discussions, it takes literally seconds and it almost always happens.

I hope you can appreciate the reasoning and we can now stop beating about the bush and accept these rules. I've seen a ton of sites dedicated to religious and political discussions, you are most welcome to take those over there.

no it won't... see any religious forum. People do argue respectfully over certain matters but no one disrespects anyone’s belief!
even then, mods have the right to delete any such post or thread which has a potential to ignite any fight.

I do not agree. Already a lot of people think that PakWheels has lost its spirit because other discussions, not directly related to wheels have been allowed in the forums. Here members go hysteric on Toyota vs Honda threads, imagine what they would do on a religious debate.

even if the whole world says that the content of the hadith was offensive , or could lead to a debate or fight....i would rub it on their own face.

personally , the separate Religious thread idea is apparently not possible.
it would certainly give rise to debates.

like take an example here , WHOLE of the PW abuses Zardari and this government all the time....as discussing automotive without discussing government policies is not possible.

although political comments are not allowed.

Same way , some topic require Social/cultural discussion , and religion is the foundation here , and religiously neutral comments should not be treated like offensive comments, it is easy to judge which religious comment is neutral , or can spark a fight.

same like abusing Zardari is not a crime here , although politics is banned[U].

yaar this is not the polite way , it more like saying , that any one who want to discuss government policies , or mention Zardari , may go to political forums. Abusing Zardari is harmless so although it is political , it offends no one , same goes with the light religiously neutral comments.

indeed they do but dont u think this is a wheels website n v shd conc more on expanding/detailing wheels sections n the non wheels part stays limited

As long as you are here I really have no objection towards rule 3.And I also think that majority of mods know how to implement rule#3 .
(That you need to have some degree of flexibility when implementing such rules)

Well I think both sides are too stubborn so its better to leave this discussion...

For me both sides are wrong for being so rigid. However I have seen if one member posts a hadees, it ignites a chain reaction & original topic is lost somewhere... Personally I am against religious postings here on PW but we should not make it threat to our ego if some members want to share such stuff... I think best solution is to have a separate thread same as there are many thread for pictures, food places & trip info sharing etc..... However it seams the discussion here is not going to reach any conclusion sooner.. so keep on

yet the whole PW is found abusing and cursing Zardari and government policies.

no action is taken , as it it not at all offensive.

same way if a religious content is non-offensive , no action should be taken.

Political and rude/offensive/illegal/obscene posts are being removed ALL the time, both pro- and anti-government. Similarly, ALL religious content will continue to be removed until policy is changed by Admin.

Frankly, I don't think that is likely to change, as my personal opinion.
