and one more suggestion there should be some relaxation in terms of rules people come here to enjoy and these infarctions and stuff lead to an extent where members exit,i mean they should be there but there should be a relaxation after all we are not primary school guys

I think someone already talked about value of cars. In response to that I think pakwheel should start something like kelly blue book value system on their website.

I mean there is no used car evaluation system in Pakistan. This is the only country in the world where used car prices go up. Some people honestly think their used car worth more than the brand new one.

I have seen one ad where this guy was asking extra money for new tires that he put on his car about a month ago. I mean everyone has to do the regular maintenance on the car in order to keep it running.

I think a fair value system will help our used car market in the long run. I mean its good for both consumers, dealers and even car manufacturers.

What you guys think?

brother dont mind 2c. just click on his profile and see his recent posts, he is going to posts where honda is being praised and then curses honda, he goes to where toyota is being praised and he curses toyota. he goes where people are asking about market and makes smart remarks. he is just out to get attention. for the past one week he has been on each and every post,posting irrelevant and provocative stuff just to get some attention. so dont mind him, just ignore him.

Gentlemen, let's not turn this thread into an argument.
Let's stick to the spirit of this tread; you have a complaint about anything regarding PW, post it here. One of the moderators or admins will try to address it.

My previous post was in that very respect. Nothing personal. PW will not get involved in establishing set prices for anything.

Free markets dictate prices based on supply and demand. In Pakistan there are few other factors that seem to influence people's buying and selling decisions. If you pay close attention, these factors, however, still conform to the basic principals of supply and demand. PW's meddling in such fundamental market forces will likely result in no change in trends at all at best, a decline in sellers activity at worst. Neither one of the choices are palatable.

There is a possible solution though. Unfortunately it solely relies on buyers and sellers reporting correct sale price, which will NEVER happen. Sellers will report inflated sold price while buyers will claim unbelievably low buying price for the same item. If these prices were reported correctly, PW can very easily post price trends that can be used by both buyers and sellers to establish fair market value of an item. Asking PW staff to verify the actual sold price is also quite impractical, since this is a free website and all items sold are listed for free.

If there is enough interest in this type of service, which would have to be paid service to cover the cost of collecting sale information, please show your interest. People making decisions on such matters are listening and watching this thread.

@all respected admin, moderators & Concerned...

We are a group of friends, we buy/sell cars & different items of our interest, we are using PW since 2.5-3 years, we have learned a lot from PW, Since the last quarter of 2009, we have observed an un-necessary strictness on PW, specially,
1-When a running thread is closed,
2-Thread closed when discussion is on its peak...
3-Problems in posting a car add, viewing our own add, Confirmation of add.

Secondly searching a thread on PW is very difficult, even 'google' is much better to search a thread on PW.

Before I begin my response, let me say that I do not view PW as a car buying/selling place but as a strong knitted community where I have made some great friends and where I spend my time daily. I havn't felt a decline in activity on the forums, but yes the quality of discussions and the sense of association one felt before has certainly diminished. I am a business graduate and I must say that in terms of Product Life Cycles, it seems PW has reached the maturity stage and unless any extension strategies are employed, unfortunately decline is the next stage. Anyways the reasons which I feel contribute to this whole scenario are

1)Lack of proper management of Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi Chapters. Back in the days there was a lot of activity going on in each city. There were regular GTGs and members actually got to meet each other. This developed a sense of association amongst them and there were quality discussions. Members knew they could really count on someone helping them as they could just call the other guy etc. Unfortunately, as far as Lahore Chapter goes, things would never be the same after Adil bhai (aridsoul) left us.

2)Biasness on part of moderators. I hate saying this but moderators no longer seem impartial or maybe the policy of Pakwheels itself has changed. The most recent example which comes to mind is the Majid Supra accident thread. While mods deleted all posts against the driver, they did not touched any pro driver posts and let them remain there in the thread. Justifying their actions, Mods said they did not wanted to incite emotions. Fair enough! but then why let the argument be partial towards one side? You should also delete pro driver comments. At the moment, anyone from outside who views the thread, to him it seems as if PW supports the driver. And best part of all it is that the moment mods starting deleting replies, a Facebook page was made where people were free to reply without fear of deletion. Needless to say, PW did lose traffic. A couple more of such instances, and a new forum will definitely come into place especially when it only takes 5 mins to make one

3)Faulty promotion. In the last couple of years, PW has really shot up in popularity however all of it has been directed towards the buying/selling of the cars and not the forums. People do know about PW in the market but they only know that they can go and buy/sell cars over there and not that they can take part in meaningful discussions.

Maybe what the admins need to decide is that what takes the priority. The buying/selling part of the website or the forums

according to title it says complaint
and if some one is asking too much of his owned vehicle is never a complaint
its a business where any one can ask any thing for any product make sense?

There are two things on pakwheels which i detest.

1. I often come across ads which are fake. I really don't get the idea behind such postings. It often happens like this. A car ad would appear with such a stupid rate for it that one would wonder why such a car is offered at such low price. The contact number given would be unresponsive. Same pictures would appear in other ads with different locations and the same contact number.

2. Some ads have pictures copied from other ads and posted as theirs. i myself am a victim. Despite repeated calls to the person, he did not remove the pictures of my car from his ad. Complaint to admin did not result in anything. I have come across various ads which have pictures of one car.

on the other note at least i am not making fun of posters Corolla's demand and at the end telling him i am only having fun to spoil the genuine sellers efforts to sell his car at 2.30am in the night.

i am sure you never got the point let me explain to you in a simple way
if i have a car and i am selling it for 1.3 mil
and you don't agree to the price for what so ever reason
now you should start complaining or leave the seller as it is?
you need to accept the fact this is his property and he has the right to ask any thing for it.
does it make sense?
if you happen to go to classified page of a newspaper you will observe so many cars over priced will you start calling them or leave them on their luck?

this is not a selling thread its a suggestion thread so that suggestion is quite not a suggestion or a legit complaint
