Thank you. This matter is already being considered. The ultimate goal is a moderator free Pakwheels or with minimum moderator interventions.
I often come across ads which are fake. I really don't get the idea behind such postings. It often happens like this. A car ad would appear with such a stupid rate for it that one would wonder why such a car is offered at such low price. The contact number given would be unresponsive. Same pictures would appear in other ads with different locations and the same contact number.
Some ads have pictures copied from other ads and posted as theirs. i myself am a victim. Despite repeated calls to the person, he did not remove the pictures of my car from his ad. Complaint to admin did not result in anything. I have come across various ads which have pictures of one car.
Report ad is a function especially for this matter. However since you've raised the issue of your complaints going unanswered, we shall look into it and try making the report ad function more effective.
You must realize however that there can be cars priced at far lesser than the market price for a few reasons. Just an example : An average condition Civic VTi 2002 will be priced at around 750-875k depending upon the condition. However if it is a Karachi registered car in Lahore with duplicate books and duplicate number plates and repainted front patti will be priced at around 550k.
@Mani - Thank you for your input.
I partially agree to the first and second part of your post. I do not agree with the maturity part, I believe its still the very beginning. Pakwheels hasn't yet launched a proper reach out program, not to mention there hasn't been a single full scale marketing campaign. What we see now is a result of simple effortless word-by-mouth. You know a dealer, he sells you a car, later he asks you where's the car you bought from him, you tell him you sold it on Pakwheels. Similarly, you want to inspect a car and take your dealer friend with you for his expert opinion - he asks where you found the car, and you tell him about Pakwheels. Then there's google - you search for any car related stuff sitting in Pakistan, and the first few results will direct you to Pakwheels pages.
Your suggestion about directing the marketing strategies towards the forums hold weight, and will definitely be considered by the decision makers in the future marketing plans.
We are a group of friends, we buy/sell cars & different items of our interest, we are using PW since 2.5-3 years, we have learned a lot from PW, Since the last quarter of 2009, we have observed an un-necessary strictness on PW, specially,
1-When a running thread is closed,
2-Thread closed when discussion is on its peak...
3-Problems in posting a car add, viewing our own add, Confirmation of add.
Secondly searching a thread on PW is very difficult, even 'google' is much better to search a thread on PW.
1 and 2 - Kindly elaborate, if possible with an example, when a buying/selling thread has been closed unnecessarily. Monetary matters are serious, and it will definitely be dealt seriously.
3 - The confirmation of ad takes time - there've been situations when obscene/indecent stuff has been posted in the ad text, or as photos. It is necessary to avoid them at any cost.
What problems are you facing regarding viewing or posting your ad? I'm asking because I've never experienced any myself.
I agree with the search part - thank you for bringing it up. Not being able to search for any 3 letter word at times is frustrating, for instance when you're looking for a thread regarding FOG lights, or a D16 engine.
