Any element of anxiety in the past 3 months?
Do you smoke?
As mentioned before these are the do's and don'ts of maintaining a good and healthy sleep cycle :
Wake up early in morning (max 8AM)
Have a cup of tea or coffee in the morning. Before 11AM!
Have a good breakfast.
Have a good healthy lunch-avoid fast foods and soft drinks.
No red bull or any caffeine containing energy drinks. They not only ruin your sleep they're harmful Wasay bhi.
If you take an afternoon nap, reduce it to an hour. Set an alarm and watch a movie when you wake up (if you study or stay idle at home its highly likely you will return to your nap)
Go for a light walk in the evening-Half an hour is good enough.
Eat a light dinner.
Drink maximum one-two glasses water 3 hours before your sleeping time.
Put your phone and laptop away 2 hrs before going to bed. No watching TV either.
Take a good shower with warm water before getting into bed.
Read a good book before lying down. Novels are excellent books and calm the nerves by distracting you from your daily tensions.
NO SLEEPING PILLS!!!!
Personally when I study for exams I sleep very less. This time I did swimming (about 1km everyday) and I started sleeping soundly undisturbed for 7-8 hours. It helped me a lot to set my routine.
