For insomnia..
Begin with changing your behavior towards your sleep.
Make sure you go to your bed only when you are tired. Do not sit on your bed and use your phone or laptop. Do all the facebooking pakwheeling tweeting away from the bed and only lay down when you are tired. Do not bring your phone to bed. Keep it aside and turn it on silent with the WiFi off.
Use your bed for sleep only.
Doing this your body will associate the bed with sleep.
Do not do any exercise or workout right before sleep.
Do not have coffee or other caffiene containing drinks after lunch. They will mess up your sleep cycle. Research has shown that having one coffee before noon has the same effect as having multiple coffees during the day.. having coffee after lunch spoils sleep.

Try these steps for sometime and hopefully they should help. If the insomnia continues then seek medical help from a neurologist or a psychiatrist.
Do not try to take any sleep medication without a proper prescription!!
