Also tell if you have some feeling of some mucus like substance falling back in your mouth and also if you have watery eyes with it or not and sneezing. If yes this is post nasal dripping and most probably this is allergic rhinitis or chronic rhinitis.
As for all allergic or chronic condition first is prevention, try to locate the inciting agent, most commonly in our setting it is dust or smoke, so take a mask. If you smoke or use any sheesha, you must abstain from it. If someone else smokes in the house or workplace try avoiding that.
Secondly as spano said steam inhalation is very good, it will clear out and thin out the mucus. Now for pain and relieving of that blocked sensation best is antiallergic like fexet, telefast, zyrtec, t-day, baydal, rigix or more potent ones contain pseudoephedrine which is a vascular constrictor like fexet-d or telefast-d, but don't take pseudoephedrine ones if you are diagnosed with hypertension. Again you can use arinac or any other painkiller for that matter like dyclo, nise for headache and to some extent for that blocked sensation.
If using above treatment for 1-2 months the problem still persists then myteka or singulair or zatofen may have to be added. Even after these if still problem is there and once only when allergic rhinitis is confirmed then xolair inj may be added.
But try to show a ENT if there are any polyps or bent nasal septum this may aggravate the condition.
