If Methotrexate is not effective even after increasing the dose from 15 ml to 20 ml; is it safe to move to Humira or Enbrel (Biologics)?

Ok. Normally Methotrexate is given for 3 to 6 months and if there is no response, biological agents are added. But some tests need to be done before starting biological agents esp to rule out Tuberculosis infection and these agents should be started on advise of a rheumatologist who has experience in treating such patients.

My 9 yrs old princess has problem by birth with strong sunlight. She cant open her eyes in a bright day and blinks a lot if she is asked to stare at something or look at something far distance.
We consulted Dr. Yasin Durrani at Maroof Intl Hospital F-10. Undoubtedly he is well aware of his work but we need more expert opinion about this case.
Dr. Yasin has recommended sight glasses with coloured lenses to help in daylight. She is using for past three months regularly.
As per her, there is not a significant change in the clarity. She never had a headache due to eye sight weakness before and neither did she complain after using spectacles for over 3 months now.
Our concern of her repetitive blinking and strong reaction to sunlight still exists.
Plz suggest an expert ophthalmologist in ISB/RWP/KPK area.

I also had this issue in sunlight when I was in the same age. Was very difficult to open eyes in direct sunlight, the doctor diagnosed weak muscles and suggested that it will get better with time and it did

If you can, make a trip to Karachi and take multiple opinions from top ophthalmologists. I can recommend one ophthalmologist in Dubai if you ever visit. In Karachi, to name a few are Dr Akhter and Dr Hashmani. Also LNH has good doctors.
