Q: Need help with Mobile App Business

Assalam o Alikum all,

I am looking to get involved in mobile app business. But I have no idea how and where to start from? I am trying to read online in different places (Youtube videos / Quora etc), but still have very basic knowledge about this industry.

So I want to start a discussion here on Mobile App start up business.

I am not a coder, but fairly tech savvy, (Network Engineer by profession currently working as Solutions Architect).

I am "thinking" about starting app development business, but I don't have experience of this.
Where and how can I start ?

well its very vague to tell you how to start doing it. first understand the concept of what you are trying to accomplish. i mean learn something what is software, how you want to invest. Do you want to open software house ? or a middle man who just shares projects?

My idea is very simple, perhaps too crude at the moment.

Generate ideas, outsource the development and launch/market them on app stores, generate profit (perhaps not in the same order).

lol I am doing this business already as free lance i m Team lead in a Canadian compnay Exposoft | Empower Your Events and dude first you need to understand how app works and whats is iAd for iphone how does it work and how to put add in Android app

its very complicated to explain here

you need to understand how free apps works and you need to understand the business model of the apps how free apps earns

how much google pay on ad like this

without it you will fail simple answer ..

the most important point
you need to research about how app business model works and how free app earns like adv , users click, downloads etc

if you are willing to study then i can provide you the document that document v.helpful and that document made by our business manager long time ago it covered all major points CPI (cost per install) , iAd, sponsorship , SEO keys (like what people search over google for app)

i am doing this business becuase i m android and iphone developer doing iphone development since XCode 3.1 version ,

when i started i failed then i discussed with my business manager after that i realized how it works then start focusing on different areas.

staring points.

you need to understand

1. how free app works,

2. CPI cost per install

3. Ads

4. in app purchase

I know guy in karachi whos litreally earning more then 7000$ dollar month by creating a Islamic apps because they have so many users which goes to there FB page (paid facebook page) and then goes to google store or app store then download apps (google pay per download)

rest you need to ask your self are you willing to do that? its not piece of cake

Well, you have the general idea - why not just get started and learn along the way?

Find a marketable idea. Find descent app developers for iOS and Android. Launch your app.

The nitty gritty details you'll learn as you go.

Just keep one important advise in mind - Apple users are a lot more likely to pay for apps than Android users. So if I were you, I'd build a paid app for iOS and an ad-supported version for Android.

there are so many ideas depends how can you get traffic for you apps.

for example

i recently made a app android right now EMoji type app I hope you Know Emoji icons for example this kinda app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pengpeng.coolsymbols&hl=en) .. so from my app you can send share the icons on whats up, email, Facebook , Twitter, instagram , flicker, the icons are v.cool my designer took 6 month to develop those icons or images like emoji (funky icons, love icons, hate icons, mody icons)

for adverting I pay 6000 per month to facebook i am member of multimedia community page if any page whos users are in millions facebook charge for that page like you can advertise whatever you want

Thanks, you have explained it pretty well.
Can you share some details about how to find the "right" developer and how to manage the development process?
I heard horror stories from some people, who received very bad quality code, and it was a pain to maintain or update the app after version 1.0 because of this. They had to start with totally new code base.

How is your experience in this regard ? Thanks once again.
