Regular petrol from a reliable station will always work well and using High octane is a waste of money unless if it is required by the vehicle.

Brand and station generally depends on city. I know a pump in khi close to malir cantt “caltex” i think. Its fuel quality was superb and guage very accurate. In peshawar i have an excellent experience with PSO pump close to hardees (the last station i would visit in any other city). As a thumb rule avoid pumps on hi ways g t roads etc they are real looters. You can share the city and members will share their experience.

Hi octane “does” make a diff its simple chemistry. It improves pick and maybe economy but pick definitely improves. But my personal take is : unless you are planning on a drag race its useless and a huge bump on pocket.

Pso Agha khan road karachi is the best. If you ever want to judge the quality of a petrol station always pay close attention to the meter and the trigger. If the trigger is set half way and the person removes their hand it is the right way. The PSO I mentioned takes the longest time to refuel at.

i run my corolla on total fuel completely, the high octane does improve the fuel economy by aprrox 1.5km/l a little more a little less. my first motorway/gt road trip returned 18 km/l on high octane. even though better economy it still costs more Rs/km running on high octane.

Hobc in Pakistan has been prone to manganese addition and due to that, it can damage cat converters. M not sure about advanced or not, standard is now 91 ron here..my friends work at senior post in shell and they told that 91 ron is followed as a standard. Hobc with manganese can be a problem.. remember what happened with Civic turbo. Slight increase in mileage could ne there but i think hobc being unregulated is not a wise option, unless absolutely required.

The trigger when set to halfway and especially automatically dispenses fuel at a slower rate and you are less likely to get scammed. Petrol station workers here keep their hand on the trigger and if you look the other way do not dispense all the fuel ( expecially at the end when the meter stops ). Also they will try to distract you as well with one person asking you if you want to change your oil and the moment you look back at the meter it stops. In that given duration you are scammed. The best time to refuel IMO is early morning and especially when no tanker is there to refill the station tanks. I have learned this the hard way and always go the extra distance to refuel from a better station.

H bhai there is not even a price control. Manganese content is the major danger for your engine, chocking cat

They use manganese to boost octane number.. actually it was the argument given by atlas Honda on turbo issue. But i have one experience where a car was driven on hobc and cat chocked at 30k kms. That car was again an OLD TECH Corolla 2013. That person used to get free fuel and so used hobc throughout the time he kept the car. This made me believe that Atlas claim was not altogether wrong

Bhai enjoy regular fuel these passenger cars work fine. No matter, if we call Honda ADVANCED, its a same economical pessenger car. No point in wasting money on hobc for a minor placebo and that too on mileage probably. I mean no one should be spending on a hobc in city at least..makes no sense. Civic 1.8 works fine on regular fuel as well, despite being more MODERN
