I have read this thread and summarize the following conclusions (correct if I am wrong):

1. Installation of aftermarket immobilizer (or whatever you all them) for Corolla involves tampering of electrical wiring to insert relay/switch which has two disadvantages. First a good thief can bypass relay/switch easily and secondly it voids the warranty.
Corolla ECU cannot be re-programmed unless replaced by a hacked one.

2. All kind of radios can be jammed and today's thief are well equipped... either it's a 2 way secure radio or any other, in case of jam it will not work at all.

3. For TALA lock I am not sure and if someone claims it works please post photos.

After all we pay for more than Rs. 1.7 million for a new Corolla and the Indus Motor Company doesn't even bother to introduce some unique security system for the car... they simply hand over simple keys and assume rest assured!

Maybe some people know how to secure their Corolla but they will not speak on this forum as their method will be exposed and become vulnerable???

After going through the entire line up of the security systems available in the market, I have come to the conclusion that all of them are simply useless. None of them is immune to hot wiring, including Steel Mate which is just a fancy security system working on the principle of every other PLC security system.
Best of such security systems work on the basic principle of cutting off power via either tapping in the ignition or the fuel pump(similar to what a tracker does). However, such circuits can easily be bypassed by any amateur electrician. So they are pretty much useless.
What can't be bypasses is tapping in directly in the ECU, that is disabling the ECU all together. And this is how OEM Immobilizers work. They simply disable the ECU if a key without the transponder is used to start the car.
In the market, I have also seen wanna be immobilizers as well. Yet they work on the principle of tapping in the wiring of either fuel pump or ignition. So they are a no go as well.
For now, I am relying on a steering lock and a typical high quality lock in the U-joint of the steering column. I know that can very well damage the U-joint but if one is careful while locking and uses the appropriate size, then nothing will happen to U-joint. Tri-Circle locks are useless as they can easily be opened via common keys. Better get a lock which is very uncommon in the market.

When I bought my car, previous owner removed the keyless entry so I only have central locking system with motors installed in all doors. That also was not working and I found it occidentally when I removed door card. Then I opened the plastic panel under steering to find out a central locking box and 2 plugs which were probably attached with keyless system. As I have fixed all the motors and wiring, now I want to install keyless so I guess I can do a DIY but question is which one to buy as already have central locking installed.

Thieves have to carry a whole ecu along with ignition system to install it first and then take away the car...
Car with immobilizer cannot be stolen but can be snatched...

Its not that easy...balkay near to impossible to do it quickly..and the time factor is vital for chor...they have to bypass ecu+immobilizer...

i ask for every one it possible to make it enable the panic alarm with shock or break the glass ???????
in foiegn country it is enable the shock sensor in corolla .... wht not in our country ..
