The new part as mentioned before, was a Vrsf two piece metal design. It was a pain to install using a jugar since the car was not on a lift and the accessories blocking the way we're not removed at all, lots of cuts and bruises from the tight spaces. I only removed the intake box and piping. It was a royal "PITA" !!
After all was said and done I couldn't get the connection with the throttle body to seat, there is a silicone hose joining the two metal bits in the middle of the pipe, despite leaving the clamps on this hose loose, because of the cold it would not move after connecting the intercooler side at the bottom of the pipe. It was a nightmare to do this in the cold. I had to do it in the basement of my friends apartment complex where the old pipe broke. Thankfully my friends were there to help me.
After two days of on and off struggle (couldn't and didn't want to move the car) and trying different things, I had a eureka moment and put some Vaseline on the silicone hose (because I didn't have grease) and it worked like a charm! Sweet relief!!!!
Picture below: (short side attaches to throttle inlet on top. Side and connects with the hose on the bottom side piece which is connected to the outlet for the intercooler.
Actual image of bay with top piece of charge pipe disconnected and air intake piping and box removed. It's really tight!
