Question: GLI manual or auto? Suggestions

Assalam'u Alaiyekum to all members out there.

I'm planning to buy a Corolla GLI 2016 Alhamdulillah.
My question is that should I go for Auto or Manual?
I use to drive a Move 2012 custom, considering it a 660cc car but even then it was very underpowered car. Whereas my friend owns a Swift auto, and it's an average car (personal driving experience ) I'm not saying that it's slow, but the initial is average as compare to Swift local manual.
So here the question arise, as I'm going for a GLI inshaAllah. So considering it a 1300cc car, whether it's underpowered or not.
Any pros and cons of auto and manual GLI.
A friend suggested for an auto Altos 1.6. But thinking as a resale point of view plus heavy taxes, GLI is a wise decision.
Please members share your experiences with auto and manual both GLI.

Go for automatic. Look at the traffic conditions now a days nd ur left leg would also thank u later on. + after spending so much money y have a hectic drive bcz of manual transmittion? Manual isnt an option.

It your personal choice if you feel that you are comfortable with clutch you can enjoy better mileage better control over ride

If you arent comfortable with clutch buy auto tranny car

Better go for your friend's advise coz if you feel Swift an average car than how come a 1300cc sedan having more weight than Swift will meet your expectations

Secondly better go for a test drive that'll help you to decide better as ONLY my observation is k Corolla 1300 no matter auto or manual is bit underpowered so better go for Altis 1.6

If you want to go for A/T, then go for Altis 1.6 A/T.

It depends on your budget and requirement. If you are a sensible driver with no 0~100 aspirations in the least time, and can afford the fuel then an automatic is recommended. But if you prefer to change you own gears and are conscious of fuel economy then get a manual 1.3 GLi. The Altis is really good but mighf exceed your budget.

And what about its resale, as it's a first new Toyota coming in our house.
First Toyota we kept was Toyota Indus Corolla 1.3 manual.

I will exceed my budget if altis is a better auto car, if it has a good resale like GLI.
Nobody in my social and family circle owns the new model GLI auto or even manual.
Grande is available but I don't want a grande, so no use of test driving it.
Anybody here who owns a manual or automatic GLI can tell more better.

Bro, resale is not bad for Alris 1.6. Gli is not bad either and it's good for daily life especially if you want to drive it in city.

I had both in my use Auto and Manual 1.3 with due respect to all my friends who are happy with 1.3 but I found it totally underpowered

I was going for a Gli 1.3 A/T, but after some research, reading comments of members on PW and a test drive, I opted for Altis 1.6 A/T and now that I have it, I totally am impressed. It's a beast of a car and the power under the hood is awesome.

I am sure you will not regret this decision rather you would say that you made the right one.

I have the same question my dad will be getting a new car this year from the company and he wants to go for gli so i suggested automatic but i have a question is the auto as reliable as the manual. We currently have a '11 gli manual and has been used over 165k kms so will the auto be able to handle this travel?

go for altis 1.6 auto. i'm using 10th gen gli 1.6 auto and its drive and comfort is way better than 1.3's. resale isn't bad also as people are opting for all variants of corolla this time instead of sticking to either base or top of the line model.

Yeah right, this time i believe in the coming years there will be hell resale for all variants of Corolla, as GRANDE is seen a lot now a days. Loug samjhdaar hogaye hain, XLI GLI k chkkar se bahar nikal rahay haiin
