Questions about alloy rims

From the net searching I've gathered that:
Alloy wheels are lighter than normal factory fitted steel wheels
They offer smoother steering and braking performance
But I like to know
What sort of better performance you get with alloy wheels - do you really feel the difference?
How much do they cost?
Do they wear & tear quicker compared to normal steel wheels?
Do they reduce fuel comsumption (as they are lighter)?
Why don't manufacturers fit them as standard?

90% of the alloy rims in our market are heavier then the stock steel rim and hence put a burden on suspension (depending upon size) and they also increase the fuel consumption.

You wont get any better performance with alloys, their only + is that they enhance the looks of your car.

mate u got totally wrong information...
alloys are heavier then normal steel wheels except light weights ones..
they have v.bad impact on fuel consumption and suspenion...
they are not quicker then normal steel ones...
cost depends on the rims.. u choose
and the most important thing according to the condition of pakistani roads they are v.easy to break.. as i had experience this by my self..

no topic starter is right, when u search for Alloys vs Steel RIms over internet u will come with this result that, 'Alloys are ligter than steel ones' but in our market we find 95% alloys heavier than the steel rims, rest i agree that, they are more vulnerable on breaking due to conditions of our roads.

available at muree road start form 2.5k till 5k per pair
stronger the spoke rims , maintanace free ( sedha krwana nahi parta)
in case of collison i have seen bent front shocks but alloys were at their place . try to get japanese one , china ones also serve the purpose

japanes alloys are best
weigh of the alloy is depend on its size
1.60-18 alloy would be lighter then 1.85 alloy
if one would buy good japanese alloy for his GS150 OR CG125 then he should also take care of rims size(if he is keen on weigh etc) so if he would go for 1.60-18 alloy for gs150 then i dont think the alloy rim with tyre will be heaviour then steel rim having tyre on it,
if you realy need to buy alloys then must buy any japs brand like ENKEI RIMS, that will serve you better then stock spokes rims, but that would be costlly, do not go for alloy rims located in local market, just try to locate in scrap markets, if you are lucky then you will must find it for u,
if you are looking for fuel eco then no need to be worry if you applied same size of alloys with stock tyres,
no doubt it will good for looks but once get faulty then hard to repair,
i recentlly bought YAMAHA RD125LC alloy rims, its japs, and in mint condition, cost 12k

^+1 ... alloys are much better and way too stronger than spokes wheels... i hv used them in jailing for seven years, many times hit them very hard in bumps but they never bent or needed any maintenance or alignment issues ... about weight, yes they are little heavier than spokes but not much, so fuel avg will be compromised too. .. the lighter ones u talking about are not available here because they r made of exclusive metals and very expensive...

about manufacturers here not installing them... big vendors like pak suzuki and atlas will never include them in even 100 years... bhai un ka bus chalay to production cost bachanay k liay spokes ki jaga tinkay laga dain...

a good quality chinese set would cost around 4.5k..

Only genuine brand i have found is lenso. Rest all are copies. Searched in isb and lhr. Everyone keeps copies and claims them to be original

Yeah but i don't like lenso designs, Chinese copies are useless. currently looking for Advanti wheels importer as i like their designs. Heard there is someone in Karachi who imports Advanti alloys.
