Questions for Chevrolet Joy owners

I am planning to buy chevy joy. CNG version. so plz help.

1. is the trip meter digital? (i mean like the digital watches)
2. hav u ever faced any startup problem?
3. how good is the road clearance? (less or greater than alto or similar hatchbacks)
   4.what is the mileage on petrol / cng?
4. is it durable?
5. how good are breaks?

A friend of mine owns a Chevy Exclusive (0.8 petrol) probably an 05 model and I love this Chevy. We had a trip to Swat Kalam on it in summers of 06.

Here are Pros and Cons:

PROS 1st:
Trip meter is digital
No starting problems at all even in cold
Road clearance is good, consider 3 +average guys + laugage in car on moutain ranges near swat and its bad road near moutain ranges
Fuel average is good. The trip was all petrol and spent about 6k on feul from lahore to kalam and back
The car is very durable comparing to other cars in the similar class.
Brakes are good in its class too.

CONS now:
Bad resale in pakistani market
availability and price of spares

I love the car and its comfort and stability on highway are great.

exclusive sure is an excellent car. and korean assembled but it isnt available anymore.

joy's parts are all korean but assembled in karachi. 100 % price availability is there but parts can b expensive. resale is poor.

clearance is 6 inches. i dont know how much good that is.

it would sound weird. i just bought a civic 2002 vit oriel prosmatec yesterday couldnt help falling for it. 700k was the price and 80k milage and really good condition. civic rocks. so does joy.

Hehe suggest me something too bro. How did you find Chevy? Is Santro Exec Gv worth the 7 lacs or should i go for Chevy instead.

mesmerizer - test drive both the cars first. that's important. then decide. i own a checy exclusive, 2 years now and the car still drives and runs like new. the resale will pick up.

I own a Chevy Exclusive and have been driving it for the last three years. It has not given me any problem so far. I've driven it 60,000KM and it's going great. Personally I prefer Chevy over Santro. Brakes are awsome, better than locally manufactured cars. Cabin is roomier and the ride is smoother too.

it is better than santro: more value for your money. better looks. better engine.

i strongly recommend to ppl who are looking for 1000 cc cars. its the best 1000 cc car whose dealership is available in pakistan.

Whats the difference between Exclusive and Joy except the fact that the latter is Pakistani assembled and 1.0.

Should we take into account the fact that, Korean assembled ones were better and that substandard quality could be expected for the 1.0 which is being assembled in Pakistan.

Anything else that should be considered?

I own an Exclusive 2005. I bought it new and so far it has been running pretty good. In my opinion its a very practical car but I will suggest you to test drive both of them and see which one is to your satisfaction and taste. You can see my car at my ride section under Member Rides.

i have mixed personal experience

due to heavy rains in the city my car got some problem in the engine and its missing a lot, when i got it checked from the dealer they told me "its because you installed a music system" and refused to do it under warranty

the job is going to cost me 5500/- the annoying thing is that since its a company car i have to wait for all the BS procedures before i am told to go ahead and get the job done

I just had a survey-2013 about Chevrolet Exclusive 2003-2004 within in last month! I even talked to dealers and owners of this car. They all ranked it 4/5, This is the best car versus other small cars in this budget (3-4 lac). Its just badnaam or out of trend in Pakistan due to lack of awareness. If you have a look on this car, its each part speaks that I am the one you are looking for
Spare parts: easily available now in Saddar Rawalpindi Raja dealers in Kamran Market Saddar and also some others, means will be also available in Karachi as its bigger city than RWP.
Maintenance: never take this beauty to a common mechanic he will **** it, always search a proper Chevrolet mechanic for it who already knows well about it.
Engine: For engine replacement just install the kabli engine (daewoo/etc mechanic can advice) (10000 - 20000 PKR only) from saddar
Compare with mehran or other cars, its also spacious and much better than all small cars it just looks small fro outerside:
