Questions regarding a New Honda Car Purchase

Assalam-0-alaikum.

There were a few questions regarding purchasing a new Honda car that i wanted to clearup .. hope someone here helps me through

1. Firstly, what does the Honda Warranty Cover? I mean, the showroom people say that ANY sort of modifications, alterations in the car will void the warranty completely.[]Secondly, if the owner wants to change the audio system that comes with the new cars (the stock audio sets are honestly pretty low standards wrt options, including the SatNav), and install better Audio System + Amp + Woofers etc ... will it void the warranty too?[]If for eg, we void the electrical warranty, does it matter a lot.. i mean the major issues are the mechanical parts, and not the electrical ones ? Or do we void the whole set -.-[*] lastly, are there any preferences/advantages purchasing from pindi dealership or islamabad dealership.. or is the purchase / after sale service from both of these the same... coz both are accessible easily.

1) Warranty covers any manufacturing defect either mechanical or electrical and does not include bulbs, tryres etc... please read the warranty book that came with your car for full details.
2) You cut a wire, the warranty is void, only authorized Honda Rep can play around the wiring, if you want you can take your amp etc to Honda and get it installed form them (i am not sure but this should not void the warranty)
3) Warranty is not in PARTS, its either in warranty or not, if you install an am and then get a mechanical fault discovered which was under warranty honda people might reject your warranty because you voided the warranty changing the electrical features.

Thanx for the reply Interesting idea about getting stuff installed from honda reps ... its worth a shot.. ill ask around, unless someone here confirms about this before that If this works, it solves quite a few problems... unless they charge a lot

My 2 cents.

Honda guyz would charge you alot for your audio installation or fog light installation services or even keyless entery (assuming you buy a city)

Plus that system of engine that has been tempered by an electrician/mechanic gets its warranty void. I asked them specifically about this. You install wider tyres, the suspension would not be covered in your claim (if any). You install keyless entry, your central locking warranty (factory fitted) shall be void. You install massive audio system, there goes the alternator scope.

Its not like they would not touch the ECU electronics if you installed an aftermarket audio system. Although both a electronics based, yet completely independent.

Note: you install CNG and your complete engine warranty is void.

Hmm, so it seems like that the Honda ppl are actually really looking forward to get ones warranty void lol ..
Well, the biggest turnoff is the lame audio system.. its not much fun on a good car Plus Rims /new wheels (R15 or R16) might also void the warranty

any alteration to wiring, causing any maulfunction, wouldnt be covered in warranty.

Any alterations in the tires, Alloys, suspension, causing suspension issues wouldnt be covered under warranty.

Any alterations to your cars exhaust system causing a check engine light would be covered by warranty.

So if you add any thing on OEM wiring, or things thoose are clip on, thats a-okay,

I got my Honda some three days back and had same questions...
If you install component changing originalelectrical circuitry of car, then only warranty of electrical circuitry will be voided... If any problem comes with engine, suspension, cooling system etc then it will remain valid regardless of what electrical component you installed...
As for pindi and isb showrooms... Honda Center situated at Pishaware Road are truly pathetic people... I went there and they were asking for 40k own for vti mt civic... In case you book, they were telling the delivery time of around two months...
THEN...
Fortunately, I went to Islamabad at honda Classic situated in I-10, they were having two vtis parked with then and guess what, they handed over me the car right after I deposited my pay order... WITH NO OWN/ PREMIUM... Moreover, in case you are looking for some particular color, they are offering only 30 days delivery time on vti mt... HALF THE TIME THAN THAT OF HONDA CENTRE (RWP)
moreover, if you ask people at Honda center about key less entry option in vti they just don't offer it an uonda classic being credible dealers are also offering aftermarket keyless entry option for vti... So yeah you don't need to worry about warranty getting voided...

Not sure about honda but a suzuki dealership refused warranty for a friends car as they hadnt changed the oil from the dealership. They managed to get it done via some other means but dealerships look for anyd of excuse to void the warranty.

I dont know the exact setails of the contract but the dealership said that you have been changing oil from god knows where so any defect in the engine wont be covered in the warranty etc. It was a long time ago and i dont remember the details but the car was excessively vibrating at idle or something like that i don’t remember
