Questions related to accord cl9 (2004 version)

1) What is the fuel economy?
2) is the drive better than a civic (rebirth)?
3) is the ground clearance good?
4) can it be driven on rural roads (not damaged or something just smooth sandy road?)
5) what is the maintenance cost?
6) do you always need to fill it up with v power or some sort of fuel?
7) is it a good daily driver?

I owned a CL9 type S, i hated the stiff ride that was probably due to the 17s , some ppl dont like the heavy steering but that was ok for me, it has an Ok ground clearance as i never had any issue as far as maintenance goes, well used parts are cheap but new parts are the same price as that of mercedes or bmw.The best part of the car was the solid Vtec kicking engine however it had a tendency to throw a CEL (check engine light) if bad fuel entered. Overall id say its not a daily driver as it gulps fuel like a giant and as these cars are getting old most of them have been thoroughly abused by our boi racers, so they are usually breathing their last and will require constant maintenance. Rest with deep pockets anything is possible, bear in mind must find a clean car to start with ,even that will do 9kpl max

All of these cars have bad suspension now, and repairing that to factory spec is extremely expensive with genuine parts.

1.Around 8-10 km/ltr provided in good nick
2.Obviously yes how can we compare a 2.4 JDM with a locally assembled 1.8 that too a lower product
3.Yes ground clearance is good for four adults on board
4.Yes it can be but you’ve to careful which you should be in Urban usage as well
5.Routine maintain every is more a less the same for major part replacement Accord will have a con as sourcing of decade old car that too a JDM will be difficult and expensive

Above all I’ve shared my opinion just keeping in view a good car
Car having improper maintenance or mishandled through juggars will teach a proper lesson

I've owned a CL9 since Oct 2015. And here is my experience:

1) 7-8 km/ltr
2) absolutely love it!
3) not good in my experience. Mine is a Type 24S with factory bodykit. I prefer to use my other cars in this respect
4) yes, it's not fragile, but ride is hard, at least with my 17" factory wheels
5) for me it has been pretty reliable and I don't see a high maintenance cost relatively speaking, and parts availability is good in Karachi
6) I never go beyond 1/3 hi octane and 2/3 regular. Infact I prefer its feel on 100% regular rather than 100% hi octane
7) it's been my daily driver ever since I bought it, but my fuel is reimbursed by my employer. It's fuel consumption is not good, I don't like its ground clearance, interior space is nothing extraordinary, ride is hard. So you make your choice

yeah,

recently a guy from this forum contacted me, and also did some finding out of parts prices of all new genuine suspension parts and a transmission rebuild for a similar car.

He dropped the idea like a hot potato.

WHY? - every single one has trashed suspension due to "sarviss teyshunn haail sarviss" and its driven like a dragster by fanbois.

We all know that Honda automatics are fragile even by gentle driven standards - let alone abuse standards.
