Quick TuneUp D.I.Y***CD-70***

Hello friends.
My bike is CD-70 and 9k km driven.
Due to Honda Atlas pathetic quality. Its fuel tank got rusted near Fuel Petcock.So i decided to clean the carburetor.
I didn't took it off from bike as it was a quick D.I.Y.
Procedure:
1. Opened the intake manifold.
2. Opened the Float Bowl.
3. Opened the throttle cable tension spring.
4. Sprayed Carb Cleaner from top and all yellowish varnish came out.
5. Cleaned the jets and outer surface of carburetor.
6. Cleaned the Plug and Float bowl.
7. Finally fitted everything back and adjusted jets properly.

Shocking it is rusting over there.

Give it a diesel wash.

Also i doubt the carburetor is genuine.
It seems fake one.

I am just suspecting it...
Also if the petrol in your area is of poor quality use a metallic type of online petrol filter. It costs 50rs and lasts 5-10k and in this time your carb will be as clean as you will be packing it today.

Do not use the plastic body transparent type of filters. They cost 20rs and are horrible

Each and every bit is original as i bought it brand new.
BTW bike is rusting from everywhere

hmm .. but original ka float plastic ka hothay ha not like this tin material .. which has released so much dirt..

someone might have changed it .. ask a mechanic if its genuine ..

No. Plastic floats only come in china bikes. Honda never came with plastic floats.

did you clean out the emulsification tubes in the carb too or just drained the float bowl?

Xulfiqar sir, I know about carb. parts but sorry i never heard of emulsion tubes.
kindly tell a simple name.

the emulsification tubes are the air orifices for the main and idle jets, if those get blocked your fuel mixture goes rich. The idle mixture for this carburettor is infact controlling the air emulsification. The main jet emulsification circuit is near the carburettor bell mouth.

hmm this is the first time i am seeing tin floats in honda bike . .these are in cheap aftermarket chinese carbs ..
real carbs from all vendors of bikes use plastic float bowls. they never rupture or get imbalanced . rusted.

i have a cheapo crown lifan carb and that is using this type of tin float .. its pathetic quality.

Na karo bhai. we buy new model every year since 2003. All had same brass floats

are you running it on high octane ?
here fuel quality is very bad which chokes the carb. and also fuel tank is badly rusted from inside. i can see floating rust near petcock.

look at the holes near the carb mouth - that is the emulsification orifice.
