Radiation in japanese used cars

Before cars can be exported they have to be handled by countless Japanese citizens. Do you guys really think that the govt. of Japan is going to willingly expose its own citizens to radiation? Of course not. Stop believing in rumours.

Sorry to open an old thread, but a few ppl I know(not illiterate ppl, actually highly qualified docs) were discussing this same issue.
yes, the japanese do quarantine radiation contaminated cars yet as mentioned before, but some cars r stolen and sent to markets where there isnt strict checking, such as here.
What I suggest is that we can ask some physisist friend to borrow a hand held meter from his lab( spectrometer or GM meter) and survey a few random recently imported cars in the market.
No one has done it before. And I can bet on it that the results will be surprising
So is anyone willing to work on this project?
I know it sounds stupid, but the hazards of radiation of radiation are immense.

no thats not stupid. anyone who will do that research will be doing service to this nation. it is necessary otherwise incidence of cancer will increase in our country.

Its not just possible that Japanese export the cars without scanning......Even a smallest safety feature such as emergency flare is present in each car and they give auction report (which include all details about the car) to each car which leaves their country so how can they export radiation affected cars????
They have a reputation in the world and they are not stupid to let it go just because of some bucks.......

of course they did, and i never said that the radiation kills within seconds... its a long term process, someone being exposed to a radiation-contaminated car for a few hours (i.e. the "thief") will not be affected, and even if he is he won't realize it till a few months have passed.

anything is possible as i never saw a Japanese fellow with angel feathers and when it comes to send anything to pakistan people just close their eyes and send as they know there is no check at the other end and we love to buy stuff which is labeled JDM or made in japan no matter if it comes with radition or not, its not only the cars i am talking abt 1 should visit nowadays to jackson market to see new-used damaged electrical equipment coming by ships mainly from japan.

You are quite right, check this article which says that Russia has refused the entry of used cars due to this and the dealers in Japan are selling the effected cars, but in Pakistan people have more faith in JDM stickers than anything and will never accept it :

How low are these "low levels of radiation"? Low levels from part of the natural background, and small increases in this level are no problem at all.

All it takes is a simple instrument to check a car for any significant contamination, and Pakistan does have the necessary expertise to get this done, if it is indeed a concern.

the gadgets are very easy to use if you wanna check for radiation..
