Radiation in japanese used cars

I want members to comment about presence of radiation or any testing done in Pakistan in those cars imported after march 2011.

Actually one of my colleagues have stopped me from buying a Toyota Passo only because of radiation concerns in japenese second hand vehicles... Is it true that they are sending cars without testing in our country as they can be a source of cancer in many a people in coming years... A BIG HEALTH HAZARD ....

i don't think so,, because Japanese government has taken much necessary action because its not about used car export but it is about the reputation of the country and no will buy any thing from Japan if there is a chance of radiation, and i have already read a news they are checking all export goods before export so this news has no source.

They are throughly scanned for any contamination before being exported.

Don't know much about used cars because there is no authentic source who can confirm it, importers will deny radiation and local assemblers will tell you so much about different cancer in these Japanese cars but go @ youtube you will see what they did to there brand new cars were completely knocked down.

Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association has given full assurance regarding the safety of all automobiles manufactured in Japan. But at the same time, JAMA is aware the need for customers faith in such safety. To make it more clear whether the cars are safe or not, Japan announced that it would monitor the radiation levels of exported cars. JAMA has announced the operation of radiation level checking will be supported by all the concerned car makers who sell their cars in Japan and globally.

If it had been like that the whole world had banned Japanese vehicles. Second it can be easily identified and presented for proof which has not been done any where in the world.

Call up DNSRP (Directorate of Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection) of the PAEC. They can survey anything, including cars, for possible contamination.

Edit: I think it is now called Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority (PNRA).
