If your car is on honda coolant, then its a pretty easy job. Just drain the radiator and block and fill in new coolant. No flush is needed.

And what about your steering issue ? Has it stopped leaking ? If it is still leaking, then i bet they did not tighten the new power steering pipe properly over the rack.

My car's driver side dashboard is also squeaking where the tweeter is placed in the corner. Like chik chik sound. Have you faced this issue yet?

Since the issue came after replacement of pipe, I,m pretty sure the pipe is loose. I have taken pictures from your thread for reference.

Get the pipe circled in red tightened and you are good to go.

I fail to understand how the rack can fail this early. If the car has been running on proper level of steering fluid there is no way it would fail. Although i know for sure that the pipe is loose, but the max that will be required is to change the rack seals. Thats it.

My city once developed a rack leak and i went to honda dealership upon uncle's insistence. After inspecting they straightaway said the whole rack would be replace and there is no other way. I thanked them for their kind diagnosis and took the car to my mechanic. He inspected the rack and said he would order the seals and bring the car after 2 days. After 2 days he replaced the seals and the leak stopped. It cost me 2000Rs only. Whereas honda guys were saying it will cost near 30,000Rs.

As i said before, the only solution honda guys have is to replace the whole part altogether which costs a fortune.

Yes i also used to hear chik chik sound from driver,s side. But now its quite.

I sprayed generous amount of dashboard spray on the dashboard so the a little also went into the little openings in dashboard parts. Then i went under the dashboard and lubed the clips of the driver side dashboard parts. It worked and the annoying chirping noise stopped.

I suscribed your thread last night and went to radiator service center today and serviced my 2000 civic's radiator..bought caltex coolent just because of ur thread.shopekeeper was asking 1600 rs for two bottles but in the end he gave me in rs 1540 aftr some discount...and would u beleive i was running my car with plain water since year or more i guess:-)

that stupid looking clip will always leak, replace the clip with a properly designed band clamp and a proper pipe too. I dont know why japanese car makers use such useless clamps.

For the dash noises - there is a product called lockease that is made in USA - costs about 1 dollar only. Its a waxy grease crayon that is applied to door locks, plastic clips, plastic joints etc. Honda will sell you their silicone grease branded as shin etsu for this purpose but its a grease and not a wax.

A good job with the lockease stick will last for years.

You can try substituting it for a candle - or if you fancy - you can buy it from mercedes benz in a pretty little jar and pay about the equal of USD 60/- for it.

Seems like you are one of the guys who trust honda guys. Believe me buddy, they are random roadside mechanics recruited by honda. None of them are qualified or have education about automotives. Whenever i went to them they never were able to properly diagnose the problem. According to them, the solution to every issue is to replace the whole part which costs a fortune. Wearing honda uniform, having fancy tools and workstations does not make them good mechanics. I can surely vouch that you will get genuine spare parts from them but dont rely on their mechanics.

Cooling system flush is a pretty straightforward and easy task. You can hardly screw up. Anyways if it gives you mental satisfaction, get it done from them.

Thats a really good thing you did. You wont regret it and this near 2000 spent now will save you many thousands in future. It will protect your entire cooling system.

That screw type clamp works too - but this type is better, its threads do not cut into the rubber as the thread serrations are not through the metal.

Or use clic type clamps - they are a major PITA to remove or install if you dont have their specific tool - but they hold onto the pipe very strong.

I'm still confused how the hell whole assembly failed that much earlier. I asked the quote of seals from honda people and they were charging round about 20k for the whole job and require 4 days which is insane. My car is daily driven so that's why I kept driving it due to time issues. I will get the pipes checked as my next visit for oil change to them is due.

Sir will tell honda people to replace the clips and pipes. Hope this works out well.
and about dashboard creaks. I found the solution. It's a manufacturing fault which is common in all civics including SI's worldwide and whole dash needs to be taken apart to fix this issue for which I'm bit hesitant as other parts will also start creaking.
For driver side creak I found this over the internet. Have a look. Will try it and If creak won't stops. I will follow your suggestion.

There's no harm in trying. Do this and do what i told you. INSHALLAH the noise will go.

And for steering, first get the pipe clamps tightened. Dont go for seal change first.

It does! I am just worried, Long trip and the radiator hose comes off
