Radiator fan/Cold-Hot needle

Needle should not cross the mid mark at any cost. If crossing, it must be cuz of a bad radiator fan (not coming up at right time) or too low levels of radiator fluid.

If car is run with too low water levels, then do have the gasket checked.

Merhan doesnt have a bleeding hole. You have to undo the lower hose pipe to throw out all radiator liquid. Make sure you do not damage the pipe. Good to have it done by a rad wala who will charge just 100. Yesterday i had mine flushed and serviced. Put in one liter of coolant and rest water.

so we just flush the existing water, plug in the drain pipe, and pour coolant in the radiator? once the radiator is topped up, we add coolant to the reservoir?

One more thing to make sure of - the fan should be throwing air towards the engine - i mean, its rotation should be so that it sucks air from front grill and throws towards the engine. If its vice versa, then car will overheattttttt...

No. Open up the lower hose pipe, all water will flush out. Good to attach a running water pipe from top so that all inside the cooling system is flushed out. Now join back the lower pipe and start filling in..start the car once and you will see bubbles which means rotation of water and water pump's operation.keep revving the car so that more and more coolant is circulated esp when thermostat opens.. The water level will keep lowering as water is sucked in..keep filling it...

exactly my point. the dealership [olympic motors zahoor elahi lahore] says they have no idea how to bleed air out of the cooling system. they have never heard of it and that they have never bled a cooling system.

if you think it's not a technical job and i'd be to locate the bleeder bolt, and bleeed it out without pro funnels and equip, please guide me. it's a damn brand new car with just 1500km on the odo. such an irony

i bled my Alto VXR 1000cc cooling system myself by going thru youtube. i change my cars coolant myself and bled it myself.

note that alto does not have a bleed valve either.

do not worry at all and keep your calm, bleeding is necessary and is a very easy job.

please youtube it. i am sure it will help you just like it helped me.

thanks sir. i'll see the video and update. btw, i just checked my corolla. opened up its radiator cap and coolant's cap. topped up the radiator. warmed it up. revved the engine and squeezed a hose which caused spillouts. apparently the system is air free as no bubbles were produced on idle. car's new

this might be off topic btw, but a car of mine has a relay connected to the ac switch/fan. the fan operates normally and kicks in when the engine reaches that temp. [at full rotation with that annoying sound]
when a/c is switched on, the fan is slow as compared to its speed when it runs for the engine's cooling. is it supposed to run slow on a/c and faster on cooling? or is it a messed up relay?

yeh japan ke liye hota hai idher nahe chalta idher bohat garmi hoti hai lolz common words of goofs.
i have seen roadside mechanics taking out thermostat and rigging fan to direct in new corolla of my friend which was just driven 10k, he was so anxious that he went to mechanic in rwp sultan ka khu and said him ke yeh gari 4-5 mint baad temp gauge mid me le jati hai and mech said yeh to bht garam ha by touching bonet and took out thermostat and fan on direct

astugfaar. mechanics just exploit users who are unaware. a friend was advised a complete gasket/head service, and removal of thermostat from a mehran which is just 1500km on the odo. 1500 KMS GOD DAMMIT. turns out it had a leaked pipe. probably it should be fine now

Make sure car is dead cold
Park in on slope
Remove radiator cap
Start car and let it run without radiator cap
