Came across another problem in brand new car with 410 kms odo on my civic x,When parked saw small drop by drop fluid leak from hose pipe related to coolant,Couldn’t identify the exact location but saw blue fluid leakage approximate one big bowl? What could be the reason? Overfluid, pipe breakge?https://www.civicx.com/threads/coolant-leak.16197/Added link for better understanding.
Without any hesitation drive immediately to the nearest Honda dealership and claim warranty. Take a few pics or short video beforehand to help them in locating the leak. Don't fiddle around with anything yourself.
Should i do something to make sure it doesn’t leak because honda dealership is about 2 hours away from my home??
Check the coolant level. If it is between Max and Min level then safe to drive. Before driving off try to gauge how many drops are dripping. Hopefully it might be a minor leak. Check the rubber hoses for any pin drop leakage point or the hose clamps for tightness.
It’s hard to reach area, i will have to remove air filter cover and radiator pipe is located beneath it,Dripping was drop by drop but from my guessing the covering sheet would have been wet when leaked occured,Need to check levels in the morning , leaving it overnight
Is this arguable with the honda guys about new car and so many issues or is it normal occurence?
Better to observe the amount of leakage and then take further action.
Update! Reservoir is empty what now filling it,Saw dropping from small pipe, location from What ir looks is where the pipe curves.
How much coolant is on the floor? Open the radiator cap and check the coolant visually. If it has gone down then better not to risk a two hour drive even if you refill it. Call the Honda dealership and talk to the maintenance manager. Get his advice. If the level has dropped too much you might need to transport car on a flatbed truck as it might be risky to drive the car for two hours even if radiator is refilled with coolant.
Filled with water, reservoir was empty,Best solution is i should visit any desi mechanics to help me with the pipe for now, till i go i back to honda dealership for fixation,Flatbed would ruin my car from below ,its black and risks scratching.
No way! Please don't fill with tap water! Only use coolant and distilled water. And kindly talk to your dealership before doing anything. Get their advice. But don't tell them about your filling the radiator with water or your plan to ask a local mechanic for minor repairs.
I filled to check if it leaks and it did, I don’t have any solution other than fix the pipe,Maintenance guy won’t suggest me anything he would say i would like to see what’s happening so no need,Any other way for temporary pipe fix?
Anybody else who faced similar problem? Please chip in to help me with this situation,
Metallic pipe is leaky? If you have found the leaking point maybe some cold repairs using epoxy might let you reach the dealership.
Go to honda dealership. They will do pressure test and locate the leakage. It will be covered in warranty unless some ustaad has removed the clip of the pipe.
Sir get the car towed but don't risk your warranty please!
Otherwise, if you don't care about warranty ..then you are free as a bird to go anywhere you like : )
No it’s rubber i am quite sure could be clamp that’s loose?
Definitely but how do i stop leakage to reach there!
Don’t want to risk warranty that’s the only reason i am not doing anything,Should i just put tape to avoid leakage I haven’t done anything till now
bro. take it to Honda workshop and let them fix it. Get it towed if you fear you can't drive it for that long. call them, tell them the whole situation and let's see what they recommend (either towing the car to them or otherwise)
