Bro,if u dont ave issues with high diesel prices then go 4 a intercooler turbo 1kz cos its high on fuel consumption. Rest 3B is aving less consumption n is also a reliable engine.

i am using both the engines,i.e in LC Colorado n FJ 60 these days. 1KZ is fast cos of turbo but too much consumption i.e 9 to 10 km per litre. while a 3B well tuned engine gives me 14 to 15 km per litre. but if ur interested to keep this vehicle for long time n regular use,u ave option of installing a CNG on that 4200cc powerful engine.More economic n less alterations.Rest its up to u to make a right decision for ur self. If i had been at ur place,i would ave gone for the Original engine with a 5 speed forward gears if its possible. Coz i think its aving a 4 speed forward transmission.

About the fuel economy and operating cost it is well under the defined parameters if it really does 9-10 km/l but, Bro it is these factors such as it's Trouble free level, understanding of it's mechanism by the mechanics, maintenance at the mentioned level of use and "to some extent" initial set up cost which really matters!

And About cj7, no they were out of stock for fresh vouchers cj7 but, claims were high regarding arranging one for 1.50 to 1.90! Cj5 was readily available fresh voucher for 90,000 less engine and other parts disposal for more or less 60.

Bro,1KZ is aving expensive maintainance.i ave bought this colorado a few months back so i dont know much knowlege about it but my mechanic told me that the spares are easily available n a little expensive. talking of FJ 60 with 3b engine,its a beast n reliable engine. We r aving LC since last 12 years n it has never let us down.i hardly remember any problem with it since the time we bought it. its very roburst engine. but once again,i would emphasize on the orignal engine i.e 4200cc petrol engine. i ave used FJ 40 long time back with orignal specs.it was very well maintained ride n awesome drive. A powerful beast.

Well guys finally decided to go for a b-1j/ 2b genuine Diesel engine with genuine Toyota Fj Transmission (clutch plate and pressure plate replaced with best option available). The engine has been overhauled for the first time with it's crank showing at STD originaly and now sealed back and All chromed ready to be fitted! pics will be following soon InSha-Allah!
