Re-verification of vehicle asked by motor registration authority, lahore

I am posting this topic for a friend who has recently received a notice from the Motor Vehicle Registration Authority, Farid Kot, Lahore. The letter is attached here with. This has happened one year after the registration of the vehicle in lahore. He has already visited the Motor registration Authority in response to the notice at Farid Kot. Upon visit he was told that his documents will be sent to customs for reverification. A few days have passed since then but the vehicle is still showing "suspended" status on MTMIS. He is very stressed about it as the issue has risen out of nowhere while everything went smooth with the registration of the car. The car was imported and previously unregistered. Kindly experienced pakwheelers guide me on the following:

My query is:
1- Has anyone received such a letter before. Is this something fishy? Do they do this regularly?
2- After verification how long does it take to clear the "vehicle suspended" status on MTMIS.

simple plain case of fake clearing documents.
the documents eg: customs clearance GD & shipping documents are not verified & attested by relevant customs office, i.e port of clearance..
please ask your friend if he has copies of those documents which were submitted to excise.

or

the seller / show room guys arranged for the registration. if so

• period he is been scammed.

Dear @capsat. There is a little confusion here, do you mean he has been scammed by vehicle registration people? Or the showroom who sold him the car?

I will convey my friend your message. He went to excise and registered the vehicle without any broker or dealer. Do you know where he can check the authenticity of his cars documents?

customs office at port of clearance can verify the GD (goods declaration - aka bill of entry) if the vehicle has landed & cleared by customs in Pakistan. Vehicles are registered on basis of such GDs, and the shipping bill of carrier.
