Also, I visited many shops on marriot road. Some claimed they used to have but not these days due to import issues. They asked me to visit after 4,5 days.

i scrolled to read comments from buyer and i read the reply of advertiser in words he shared whatsapp ./ phone contact details to avoid breach of daraz terms. they must be having an outlet or stockist in Karachi

permatex sell a fuel resistant sealer - which is basically the same as hylomar.

The above 2 products are available at adenwalla. First one is gasoline resistant and the second one specifically mentions manifold gasket in its Application. However, the actual fuel resistance sealant that permatex manufactures is not available.

The no.2 sealant can work with paper gasket but wont work for long on plain metal gasket.

The one I got isn't a plain metal gasket. Its an iron one covered with carbonized rubber.

as a nation we have a very bad tendancy to share knowledge and to gain knowledge. Same goes for mechanics as well. they dont want to let go of what their ustad had taught them and even they dont want to learn new Technics.

Internet and social media has played a vital role in spreading knowledge in every aspect and it will take time.

This is mostly because it was beaten into them that this is a poor mans business and should be done with absolute base minimum effort, tooling and investment. Most customers are to blame too as educated people who have delved into this business or even doing as hobby DIY are seen as "failures". - Ive met people in my time in Pakistan who used to say that opening the bonnet of their car is below their status, only drivers or mechanics do that dirty job.

Its a classist society, and a rotten one at that.

There's a thin metal plate (of iron) between this cardboard type stuff (which as per the Maker is carbon)

This is called graphite sheet gasket - technically he is correct as graphite is carbon. But this material is not perfect for intake manifold, you will definitely need to use some hylomar sealant on the port edges to make it seal up.

why is there epoxy on the welch plugs on the head? - and there is a lot of rust in the coolant galleries - that needs to be cleaned out.

The rust. Huh. I poured 10% citric acid in the intake manifold too for almost an hour. Hardly 20% came off.. rubbed with Toothbrush etc but no use

Epoxy on welch plugs: The machinist did it. Had no choice there.
