Reborn engine oil-how much?

Hi there
title says it all.i want to know how much engine oil is required for civic 2010.the shopkeeper said they have some honda oil which is made to measure according to needs of civic and is 3.7liter.while i was told by some other person that oil should be 4.5litre.
kindly tell how much engine oil civic 8th gen needs.

It requires 4 Liters. And I would suggest Caltex Havoline.

3.7 is fine. Caltex Havoline CXT is good. Actually it is the same oil that comes in Honda's 3.7 Liter packing.

They might have changed. A couple of years ago, this is what Honda guys in I-10 Islamabad mentioned. Anyways, Caltex Havoline CXT is good for Honda. Also, every time I take my car for the oil change, some oil is left in the container.

Very simple, when ever you will change the oil filter it would be 4.5 L otherwise 3.7 L. I normally use 10000 KM oil filter by Honda so after 5000KM only 3.7 L.

Honda is using Total nowdays.

no my friend,

Honda did Not always use Total engine oils, in fact they used CALTEX up till recently and then changed to Total-Atlas oils.

As pointed out correctly in the posts above, the previous 3.7L Honda oil (SAE10W30-API-SL) was made for them by Caltex which is called Havoline Formula (the one with Red cap).
