Hey,
So recently my civic had a TB replacement as the old one died and since then I have been having a lot of trouble with the idle. At first when the car was driven then stopped, they would drop all the way down to 500 rpms and then come back up, it almost felt like the engine was about to stall. I went to a mechanic who played around with the belt and the tensioner and somehow that fixed that issue, even though it does happen still but only when the car is cold and even then, occasionally. But despite this the car is vibrating quite a bit at idle (700-800rpms), and the drive seems off somewhat but a lot better than before.
I recently pulled opened the engine cap while the engine was running and noticed a small bit of white smoke come out for a second or two which then subsided? There is zero oil consumption from the engine currently nor am I losing any coolant whatsoever, which makes me suspect this is not blow-by or a blown gasket (no milky stuff under the oil cap either), but I am not sure what the issue could be. I recently had an oil change from a new shop so perhaps I could have got counterfeit oil but not quite sure.
Had compression tests done a year or so ago and they were perfectly fine aswell.
Aside from this the engine also seems to run a little noisy, but honestly it could just be that the engine is 15 years old at this point, but I have always run it on 10w-30 semi synthetic.
I live in KHI, and I am not sure where to take the car to have this diagnosed. Any help would be appreciated.
