nothing spectacular, just need to stop being lazy and fit all the rubber bits lying around in my bedroom so that everything feels as it should. after that i'll work on the brakes followed by a little bit of performance massaging.

when you purchased it.

thanks buddy. it really was a disaster when i bought it but all the rust was hidden under the paint. there are a whole series of pics missing from the rebuild which sadly are trapped in my dead laptop. i'm glad that members such as yourself apreciate the efforts put in to get this car back on the road.

LOL! i'll keep some plastic sheets in the trunk. and i need to get the front camber sorted out before anyone hops in and finds that the front right wheel rubs the fender a little on compression.

ok guys it's your turn to help me out. Here is a pic of my recently acquired superbeetle, please feel free to do whatever you want with it (rims & paint) I need a little help & inspiration on this build (exterior). anything goes (except panel/roof chopping). Remember this is not to be "Pimped", the emphasis will be on modern engineering and true restoration, i'm not a huge fan of silly alterations.

love the color and wheels of the after ! awesome job! ... could u tell me how much I could get a set of alloys for a 72 beetle.. i wont a straight bolt on fit - no mods to rims or hubs - is it possible? preferably the same rim size as the one above.. but hollow if possible?!.. thanks.. looking for a quote for jus rims.. or then tyres and rims.. thanks storm!

Now that's an incredible resto!. 4 years may sound too long to some people, but having done a few restos in the past, this is about what you can if do if you are "perfection obsessed". Well, one could only do a resto in a few months during vacations, between jobs or on GUN POINT. These denters will swear upon all the deceased in their family while negotiating their dough, ... the moment you paid the advance, he will start having family problems, cramps in the butts and just about all the unforsceen one could imagine.
Keep up the good work Storm ! and save this adorable beetle for your next generation, unless you find a very good home..... hold on thightly!

honestly i could have done it in 2 if i wasn't so lazy, if everything went according to plan and if i drove it daily. as it is i drive er every alternate week-end and i fix whatever i can get done at the time. sadl;y i've been unable to drive her in the last few weeks and the battery was weak,... now it's dead and i'll have to swap in the new one from the thing to get her running again. thanks for the appreciation buddy.

Dont even know the size of the motor my moggie is running could be 948 or 1096CC, the Matchless G-2 only receives a contemplative stare once in a while as I puff a *** outside my house (when I am there). I acquired this machine several years ago, got the motor serviced for nothing; and I am araid the cylinder barrel has developed a ridge around the stalled piston, not to mention the G3L awaiting a complete resto...no immediate plans in sight. I feel guilty. I am being unfair, these machines deserve better treatment.

today i found an item which i have been searching for, for almost 4 years. the little pipe which runs through the fan shroud which sheilds the throttle cable. th eone i got is clean as a whistle and was sourced by baber the denter (along with an inspection cover for the 1303), in exchange i gave him a set of overriders,... may not be a great deal for some, but to me it was a perfect exchange,.. something i didn't need for something i needed badly.

also the 1303s batter died while i was stuck in bed for 3 weeks so i had to push start her today,... surprisingly i got her to start with only a 1 meter push,.. i love simple cars.
