update:
I had not started or driven the thing since the 25th of June 2010 as i was devoting all my time to the 1303. recently i decided to give the old girl some respect so i parked my 1303 out of the city and got to work on the thing. first a good wash, then a drive, followed by a meet last sunday.
had only one major hicup, the fuel filter was choked and hte car died 3 times on the way back.
as for the rest of the muppets who didn't turn up,... i drove in the rain with the roof down and no protection from the elements,.. what's your excuse for not bringing your VW to the meet????
next up, i'm going to get the mechanics to grease up everything and then she'll be treated to a complete electrical job. still trying to source a headlight,.. rest of the parts have arrived (except the black BRM rims).
