i bought the car for 85000
legalization cost me 45000
bits & bobs so far 2500
labour for minor work 6000

so today i sold it for cost to a friend who wanted it really badly (more than me),... sad to let it go but i decided i couldn't be bothered to focus on it as i still have work to do on my 1303. so for now i'll be helping a friend rebuild it. You never know, maybe i buy it back from him some day, but till then i have to concentrate on the 1303 more.

will update this thread from time to time but don't expect much.

i decided not to go through with the deal and instead to keep the thing and rebuild it correctly. went to pindi a few days back and got the work started, will not be covering the rebuild like i did on the 1303 but i can assure you it'll be alot of fun when it's done. colour will be matt grey or beige and it'll sort of reseble a german army staff car from the war, but with a few twists.

Initial disassembly has started, there was alot of rust and sadly the floors were welded ot the body (for those who don't know the body is bolted on). have ordered new floors and have planned to make the car look like an earlier model (mine is a 78)

no matter what, the thing is here to stay, and hopefully soon it'll start a few trends. BTW there is a volksrod being built there too and it'll be one FUN vehicle when it's done.

Sameer Bhai,Its been a while I visited this thread. You got a wonderful "thing" there and I think it should be restored and should not be sold.
If one is a classic lover and specially a vw one (like you) then its not at all justified to sell this thing which you will never find again..
Main thing is parking place..I would have gone for more classics but limited parking place and handsful at the moment....
Its good that you have started restoring it.If you have good parking place,you should keep it and should not sell..
Its a unique thing and will be one of its kind when restored (even now).

thanks for the words, i have room for 4 cars at my other home (garaged) so once the thing gets home i'll be sending the 1303 there and will swap them every week. hopefully i'll be buying another car in the coming days too.

i bet you are glad i still havn't started eating your head,... romano already regrets giving me his number as for the volksrod, i can't share pics as the car is currently under construction and hte owner wants some privacy for the time being. however i will ask him to join PW if he gets some free time. great guy and without a doubt a VW nut.

^i speaking to storm on email and he saying floor is being complete rusting and car is being need alot of working. seem to me that it looking good but needing many work.

The water tanks aren't in bazar, its near mi skool (army public school)...

Btw i went in search ov ur car one day and couldnt find it anywhere..... Called sum pakwheelers fer ur Cell Number but all said that u have changed da number.....

^if you keep the tanks to your left and head into the the bazar, just opposite the masjid there will be a small enterance to khalids workshop, in there you will find the thing with it's body removed. the floors have been redone and now it's time for the body to start getting reworked,... this shoudl be a quick rebuild as i'm not taking it to the 1303 standards as yet, first i want to have a little fun in the thing in winter. next summer is when it'll go back and get all the "fun" stuff fitted.
