Salamz brothers,
So another Rebuilding/Restoration project on the way but this is exclusively for my eight years old son.....who is heals over head in love with triumph herald convertible inspite of having a pair of spitfires ......reasons ......unknown..:)...If you remember,We had a triumph Herald 63 (first owners),which I dismantled and stored for later restoration but could not do so due to my bad health and lack of time.I made a thread about that triumph herald here (which I can't find now).I bought a lot of brand new parts from England for restoration which are still lying somewhere in the stores.Body shell was offered for anyone restoring a triumph and ultimately given away to a known mechanic who had a triumph herald in bad shape and he requested the shell for his herald restoration (which he never did)....
My son was very upset and crying when I gave the shell parts to that mechanic.....I tried to convince him that we already have two convertible spitfires......and they are all yours but he was not satisfied.I promised to buy him a convertible BMW (which I fulfilled) but he was not letting me give away the remains of that triumph herald to any one ........which I did against his will with a heavy heart.......and after that home atmosphere was quite tense and I was feeling guilty for giving away our herald....
In the meanwhile we came across a BMW Z3 and bought it (so having 3 convertibles).....but my son could not get that herald out of his mind and was not interested in spitfires and Z3.....Always saying that" you Gave away my herald ".....
Hmmmmm.....What to say....only ....."sorry beta.....but that car was not restartable without a donor car " which we cant find".....Actually I was not feeling energetic enough for another "PANGA" (Restoration).....
Any how....2/3 months back we (me and my son) went to the same mechanic for some reason I cant recall and found remains of our herald still lying there(mechanic did not do any thing with it and sold his "Hybrid" herald as it was to some one for money).....my son was so excited to see it and insisted That I want it back and refused to come back without those pieces of metal....(near future of kabaria)....I again tried to convince my son that we cant make it without a donor car....but he said "Abu we will find one"....but I want my herald back home .....so I gave up....and got it back home....
Story Kuch Ziada Lumbi ho ***e hai......:DBut it is the background of this project....
A couple of months back A Triumph Herald Convertible (original) emerged from some where for sale in Faisalabad .......When I told my son about it ....he was dancing with joy.....And said....."Lets go abbu and get it we cant miss this "donor" car".
I am suffering from severe back ache and sciatica these days and cant sit for longer periods .......but I could not refuse my son ......took a good amount of pain killers and whole family (me,my wife son and daughter )with a servant went to Faisalabad and grabbed this .............
