Recommend tyre pressure for 225/55/R18 Dunlop Veuro tyres

I have recently replaced tyres on Kia Sportage from Kumho KL 33 to Dunlop Veuro 303.

What is the recommend tyre pressure that I should keep? The sidewall on the car says 35 PSI. However, the person at the shop said 32 PSI.

Your recommendations based on direct experience will be helpful. Thank you.

I thought so too. However, at 35 PSI, the Kumho's gave a great drive. The Veuro's on the other hand feel rather hard, which is why I'm wondering.

Maybe they're just harder tyres?
Are they untampered fresh tyres?

Keep the recommended psi regardless.

Every where I read on the Internet about them (including the Dunlop MEA site), they are supposed to provide premium-grade comfort and silence. In experience though, while driving on the highway/motorway, the noise level is about the same as the Kumho's. However, comfort is significantly less to the point that I don't enjoy driving the car. I can also feel the feedback on the feet (if that makes sense).

As for whether they are untampered fresh tyres, I cannot say if they are not. I bought them from the same place I have been buying Dunlop tyres for for the last 9 years and have come to trust them.

That doesn't sound quite right then. Although from what I've heard dunlop tyres are a little harder than yokohama, continentals etc. But I guess it depends on the tyre model.

What's the tyre dates on all the tyres?

Could it be possible the tyres are deshaped? Sometimes tyres get deshaped and cause issues but warranty should cover it.

The tyres should be inflated atleast 70% of the max PSI value written on the side wall of your tyre (Not the car door).

I have a very good experience with Dunlop tyres. May be you are over filling air in them. check the side wall of the wall for the Max PSI value. Than fill it up to 70% of that value.

The date is September 2021.

When I inspected them during installation, none of them looked to be de-shaped. They don't look out of shape on the wheels either. So, that's hard for me to say if they are in some subtle way.

70% of 51 is 35.7. So, 35 PSI should be good. But for these tyres, it feels a little on the higher side. I've driven them on both 32 and 35. They don't feel right on either.

I have had nothing but great experience with Dunlop tyres in the last 10 years of driving different cars. But every time, I moved to Dunlop from a less premium tyre, mostly from the General brand, so the difference was phenomenal. However, moving from Kumho's to Dunlop, while I notice the difference in grip and noise reduction, I have lost most of the comfort.

Did you remember to balance the tyres before fitting?
Did you notice hardness as soon as you changed the tyres?

It's possible they could be smuggled, mishandled, tampered with or stored incorrectly.
I would get a different tyre shop to have a look at them, see what they say.
Might be that the model of tyres are just on the harder side?

Than may be it is what it is. some tyres are harder and less comfort oriented than the others. but harder tyres usually give more road feedback and steering feel. i personally prefer a good combination of comfort and road and steering feel.

i have found yokohama bluearth AE51 very good in that regard. so was dunlop lm704 as per my previous experience.

may be varying air level in your dunlop tyre might pay off and u r able to find the sweet spot u r looking for.

Veuros are generally harder tires, compared to Yokos, Contis or Bridgestone. On the bright side, they are more affordable.

Yes, the shop I buy from is meticulous about these things. When I got them, they filled up the tyres up to 32 PSI only. I could feel that the tyres gripped the road really well, maybe too well, because on the highway it felt as though the car was being pulled back by the tarmac. When I inflated them to 35 PSI, they became more responsive, but with reduced comfort, and increased feedback from the road.

I suspect they are harder tyres than the Kumho's, despite being the Japanese Dunlop (as opposed to the Indonesian ones).

Last week, I replaced LM 704s on my Honda City after driving them 68000KMs with BlueEarths. They are softer tyres, and I can feel the increased comfort when driving the City.

I'll just write Veuro's off as harder tyres. I don't want to experiment with pressures below 32 PSI. At that level, I do feel increased road feedback, while steering get harder.

The Japanese Veuros are 35k a pop. I don't consider that affordable.

Compared to BF Goodrich (52K), Michelin (57K) and Yokos (42-47) they are relatively cheaper
