My workhorse 1 ton Haier non-inverter AC seems to have gone the distance. Looking to replace it with a 1 ton (non-inverter AC) for my (14x12) room and was hoping to get some recommendations via this post.
I've been told to stay clear of Haier by 1 AC tech and go for either Kenwood or PEL. Another AC tech says they're all pretty much the same. I have a Kenwood split AC in another room for 2 years now and its been alright although the coils did need to be replaced last year along with the annual gas refill. The after sales service of both brands has been poor and I'm assuming it's a similar story with others also.
Inverter ACs are more popular than non-inverter ones due to their energy saving features. But a lot of people I've talked to say maintenance costs tend to be steep esp. if the components need replacement which with Khi's humid weather is the norm.
Would appreciate any pointers as to which split AC I should go for.
