Hi everyone
I would like to share my experience. I recently bought a toyota aqua with 66,000 on odo. It was previously being used by a close friend who scarecely used the car. He was using 0W 20 toyota oil. The mileage i have been getting is unbelievable. Around 28km/l in city drive with a light foot. I now switched to 0w 20 in total and the milage has not been affected.
My point to all mechanics out there is why increse oil viscosity when toyota recommends 0w20 even in pheonix where temperatures and dust level exceeds that of Lahore.
0w20 means winter and summer viscosity. It has nothing to do with temperature. 20 is the viscosity in summers. So please avoid listening to these idiots out there and stick to company recommended oil grades. Also i would like to add that you only need higher oil viscosity if engine is bjrning up oil.
Hope it helps
