Recommended OIL for Toyota Corolla!

My confusion is that Toyota is using Petron 20w-50 and Taglon 5w-50 in corolla. Whereas in the manual there are 5w-30, 10w-30, 15w-40 and 20w-50 SL/SM grades.

Why they are using 50 in brand new vehicles? Is there any requirement for 2NZ-FE to use 50 grade?

Probably it is their own (Toyota's) formulation. You can try 10w-40 by Shell which is only SN Plus grade oil available in Pakistan.

May be due to their Jahalat, ignorance, lack of will to accept & adapt to changing requirements.

Brother in case of all the brand new engines, especially the ones based on latest tech.; for normal driving conditions, you always start from the thinnest grade, mentioned and recommended by the OEM, in car's owners / users manual.

Shell HX-6 10w-40 is best. Available in 3L packing for 1900 PKR.

i have recently bought Toyota corolla 2005 xli. its driven 3 lac 55 thousand .
Currently using Toyota Motor Oil 20W50
Car reducing too much oil..... without visible smoke
which grade should i used ? expert opinion please

If still problem persist then engine need overhauling
