Dear All,
I experienced a strange problem with my new Honda CG 125 (2021). Whenever I released the throttle and then picked it up again, the bike would "miss" briefly before running smoothly. The missing occurred only when I accelerated. I checked online forums and found a post on PakWheels addressing a similar issue.
Despite visiting several Honda mechanics and being advised to use high-octane petrol, the problem persisted.
My Solution to the Missing Issue
After extensive troubleshooting, including checking the CDI unit, spark plug, and even using high-octane petrol, I discovered the real issue:
Root Cause:
About two years ago, a mechanic replaced my throttle (race) cable. During the replacement, he cut the nut that connects the cable to the carburetor. This resulted in the cable being loosely held in the carburetor, causing an air mixture problem.
Solution:
I purchased a new throttle cable that included the proper nut to secure it to the carburetor. This ensured the cable stayed in place, preventing excess air from entering the carburetor. After this replacement, the throttle response was smooth with no more missing issues.
I hope this information is helpful to anyone experiencing a similar problem.
Best regards.
