Excellent thread and project. I'm impressed by the amount of effort and detail put in. Really gives me the motivation to do something with my Civic. Maybe you guys can help me bring my car in the best possible shape (not that it is in bad shape right now, but it can do with some improvement, without deviating from stock setup).
I have a relatively good condition 2009-end Civic oriel prosmatec in golden beige colour. It has done 62k km and routine maintenance like engine oil, filters, etc, is done regularly by Honda here in Karachi.
Current status:-
Body: It is relatively clean with some scratches on the bumpers front and back and a very small dent on the rear left fender.
Interior: Mostly clean. Original CD changer replaced with a not so good quality OEM like touchscreen unit with back camera. Screen is faded and this seems to be the first candidate for replacement. The interior generally quiet with a few creaks when going over bumps. Don't know if anything can be done about that.
Tyres: I replaced those to Michelin Energy XM2 some time back and am very happy with that decision.
Engine & Mechanical: Works well with the routine maintenance. Average in city driving is 7-8 km/l with AC, and around 10-11 km/l on highway, which is the norm I guess. Suspension is also ok, the Honda guys at the dealership asked me about vibrations at morning startup as the engine mounts looked 'weak' to them. We felt no vibrations so they didn't change the mounts. Brake pads were replaced with genuine parts.
Things I require help with:-
Bumpers - the scratches are there and not very prominent but still visible. Can share a pic later. I am not entirely happy with the situation but would you guys recommend any touchup work, instead of the full repaint.
Paint/Interior - Need a restoration guidance. Paint is not dull or faded, but can have a better shine. Interior is also generally clean, but maybe not as clean as a detailed interior. I have looked up places in Karachi for detailing and restoration, but don't know who is good and reasonable. Any suggestions?
In-dash player - This has to be replaced, either with the original CD changer which I still have, or a proper OEM or similar unit that has a better screen. The back camera helps. What brand and model is appropriate? If the OEM one has exact same interface as the 2014 City OEM, then a similar OEM like would do. Any android options available for the in-dash player?
Thanks for the help in advance.
