MaShaAllah! You’ve got beautiful rides brother! I myself own a civic 2011 Oriel PT in black. Infact my car is just 29k driven but it was a little bit roughly used so it has some parts painted . Although its good overall we’re the first owner. Bought it brand new. Loved your work man appreciated seriously! Hats off! Cheers!

Had originally wanted to get TW unit (I hate the way those huge TV billboard sized android units look which are in market now). The TW unit was costing 38k for new and used were ranging between 12-20k but used system and that old wasn’t clicking tye heart to spend money on. So ended up getting a Chinese replica for 13k because the only 2 things I need are Bluetooth and Reverse Cam. Audio quality is at par with oem unit

The camera though got original for 4k because of its result and wide angle. Also fitted steering controls which I originally arranged for the Project car before this but didn’t get time to fit in that car and ended up keeping them all this time for some strange reason. I guess this Red-Born was the reason which I didn’t know myself

My cousin lives in Australia, someone he knew totalled his car there which had to be sent to scrap yard so he lifted them free from it.

But I have seen these being offered for 6-8k here as well

Someone is offering original Japanese kit for 18,000 with grip to grip conversion/installation of Cruise control and Multimedia buttons. Saw posts on Facebook

Not Chinese, they are original Honda taken out from 1.3 hybrid Civic. The button's look and feel is OEM and does not feel Chinese either. For installation if you have Oriel, then its a pretty straight forward process, only the steering wheel is removed (as the clock spring is already installed in Oriels from factory) for installation of buttons and in my case the wire that goes to LCD/Navigation/Infotainment system was already there.

For non-Oriels, clock spring needs to be installed within the steering wheel first which was an additional 2 to 3K. Rest the process was same. In case the wiring is not there, then it has to be installed from steering to the LCD.

All fittings in my case (Oriel) were grip to grip.

Total cost was 5K for buttons. The owner (Hassan) of FB page (Auto Kings) came along which his electrician at my home and installed. Good chap.

One more thing, the buttons are also programmable from within my LCD Infotainment system as it is Android based. Got rid of the stock Tracking World crap two years ago and got Android one from JDM Experts on FB. From outside, it looks just like stock OEM Tracking World Unit. So the stock interior look is retained.

Since its Android, so it has an App from where you can map/re-map/customize the function of buttons as well. Like in my case I have setup single press, double press, long press functionality and mapped it to various controls of the LCD unit.

Congrats! Nice and clean car. I'm just curious since you have Civic X as well, what exactly do you find appealing in 8th gen which isn't there in 10th gen?

Actually its not that I don’t like the Civic X, this one is a secondary car infact. In all honesty I probably love the X slightly more if not less.

And for my budget Reborn did fit perfectly well when in the same money I could buy some stupid 660 or abused 1000cc which are not even close to this decade old car in any aspect of drive and feel. I am willing to spend on maintainence of this old Reborn over convenience of a disposable shopping bag in same price range

Both cars have their own charm. X is smoother and more stable, Reborn is agile. Hard to compare both but the genes of X have a Reborn in them. This specific model is actually what set a new standard and the name REBORN is perfect for this model.

Though after Reborn in case of 9th Gen Honda got out of tune and trust me I didn’t like that model after Reborn. That’s what they overcame in when they made X. Probably the reason why 9th Gen was the most short lived model of Civic

Waisay bro after having used 9th generation for 4 years-50k kilometres I personally liked it. Not to start a debate. I also kept reborn for 15 months (28k driven as good as new got from 1st owner) which had the wow factor. My only beef with reborn was clearance. Mine would scrap belly with 4 adults..

Luv the FL X. Only thing I don't like is the transmission. In my opinion it's slow to respond not something I want from a 1800cc vehicle. Also the front passenger seat converts a grownup into a midget. Wonder why it's so low. I feel like a Bachoo when I sit on it

9th Gen was not a bad car but it was not a good Civic (in my opinion and taste) I kept 9th gen for 3.5 years starting October 2012 till May 2016 sold when I booked X and the only plus points it had were slightly better fuel consumption (due to EPS) and the cluster. In terms of drive it was not even close to Reborn for me.

Reborn is a car I have been buying again and again but don’t feel the same way for 9th Gen. Proof of its not being upto the mark is its model time span, discontinued in under 4 years as opposed to 5-6 in case of most models.

This is the 9th Gen I had, a hardtop Prosmatec 2012 registered 2013 which I sold in 2016. I had to switch to 205/60 tyres with 16” rims to make it slightly more acceptable to drive. On 15” smaller tyres it wasn’t that good.

The feel and sound of the CVT is psychologically slow but in real time it is faster and more responsive than previous transmissions. The jerk in other case gives a psychological feel of acceleration while the current CVT pulls instantly without the jerk

I have multiple times checked acceleration of all 3 models with video and X is the most responsive with times. I somewhere posted a 9th Gen Prosmatec vs X video as well and the gap was significant.

Its more about the feel of CVT but not in real time, the reality is different. Try it yourself also some time with an 8th or 9th Gen. Let me post the video again

I agree the engine sound of CVT gives a lagging feel but its just a feel, like I said the jerk of downshift makes the difference

Thanks. I have 2011 oriel prosmatec with TW multimedia. I want to get rid of the TW too but I don't want to compromise on sound quality as TW player's sound quality is pretty good. Please share details and pics about your android multimedia.

I checked out their FB page. It appears they have good service. But I am wondering where are they getting so many hybrid buttons from, and where are they getting the buttons for honda city as I see they have done and posted dozens of videos of their client cars.
