I have exactly the same sentiments and opinion on 8th vs 8th vs 10th gen. 

One thing you forgot to mention though, and that is, Reborn probably has the best exhaust tip out of the three. 
As for acceleration, in my experience, there is only one scenario where a traditional torque convertor auto can beat a CVT (which doesn't have manual tip tronic +/- capability). And that is on a roll on from let's say 80 km/h, where Civic X would be at <2000 rpms and the Prosmatec in "2" with rpms hovering around 5K. The moment you got WOT on both, CVT will lag behind.
Put this theory to the test in a friendly 80-130 on motorway a couple of months ago with a friend's Grande running in D.
Having said that, internationally the direction auto industry is going towards, CVTs are here to stay and we are perhaps in the last era of enjoying those downshifts in automatic economy/family cars.
