Reducing air intake by tapping the hole for cng efficiency. Logic?

My CNG MECHANIC CLOSED THE HOLE PARTIALLY WITH Palstic TAPE OF PIPE OF AIR FILTER CABINET OF MY CAR FOR INCREASING CNG EFFICIENCY?

Question IS "HOW THIS CAUSES IMPROVEMNT IN cng EFFICIENCY? AND IS THERE ANY BAD EFFECT OF THIS ON CAR ENGINE?

as CNG requires less air intake,they block 75% of the intake of the car which makes it easier for the mechanics to set the car on cng
it will increase ur fuel average but will decrease the performance of ur car considerabaly
most mechanics dont know u can set the car even without blocking the air intake of the car

Its Provides Better And Stable Idling And Logic Is Simply That Since CNG Needs No So Much Air For Same Particular Engine As Petrol needs....So They Simply Block Air Ways....!!
It Can Be tuned Even W/o Blocking Air But It Will Be A Rough Tune On Some Engines And Some Engines Gets Tuned Well Too....!!
CNG Means Scarifying On Performance So Blocking Air Don't Effect In That Sense....!!

Actually the Cng is gas(AIR)so when the air from intake is mixed with the Cng the ratio of air fuel mixture is increased and that is why the car gets choked.By reducing the amount of air in the Air to fuel mixture is decreased and the car runs properly.

usmanf82 i totally agree with you because air fuel ratio becomes rich when air is block with a certain ratio as air is readily mixed with CNG, otherwise the mixture will be lean and the engine may stall very quickly.

umm - you got it a bit wrong.

CNG is itself a gas and takes up space like air unlike petrol vapour which is actually liquid drops. This blockage is done to force the regulator to see a strong vacuum signal when the engine is running and release the gas. Its usually done to overcome the scrap metal stupid design venturi these shops install on the throttle intake.

Original CNG venturis and regulators dont require this, I have tried and tested it myself. Fluid dynamics is a very interesting subject and you need to apply some of its basics with CNG venturis.

i already have an original factory fitted cng venturi for my cultus carby the one with a cone shape nozzle type thing yet still the mech blocked the half of air intake via insulation tape , so should i remove it as the run fine on cng even without the tape , and does that tape benefit me in improving efficiency or performance ? and if i block the air intake as i have removed it for a while if i want to block air i should precisely block half of the air intake ??
