Primer Application; at this stage all the paint-able parts were given multiple coats (around 5 of them) of primer and readied for Base coat application stage.
The sequence followed was Primer application - dry down time - sanding with 400 grit paper wrapped in sanding pads of different sizes and forms - de grease - repeat the whole process.
After around 5 repetitions we felt confident that parts especially fuel tank and fairings smooth and ready enough to be given base coat treatment.
This process of priming was completed in about a weeks time.

Next stage of our project was Base coat and Clear Coat application.
It was rather an easy and uneventful stage, except for the extra care it warranted due to multi-pearl metallic paint and effort/struggle to get an even finish.

After Clear coat application parts were left to cure for about a week and then we undertook the most arduous task of the all, the real torture test of upper torso, the Rubbing/Polishing of painted parts.
After shedding lots of sweat, burning even more elbow grease and consumption of about a 100 pack Panadol, we were delighted by the appearance of mirror finish on painted parts.
Then followed the most enjoyable part of the whole journey, re-assembling of the bike. Words can't describe the feelings of joy and contentment, we experienced while seeing the jigsaw completing through assembly of like-new parts that once were dirty, discolored and corroded.

The final product
Alhamudlillah after a struggle of more than 100 day, filled with many many expectations and apprehensions, the grace of THE ALMIGHTY rewarded us with a magnificent horse.

excellent DIY ... well to inspire and motivate us further can u share the financial break-up as well, although the efforts u put in this project can not be accounted in $s and Cents but still just to gauge the budget ...
