3M recently completed an amazing poster-stunt in Vancouver, Canada. They prepped a bus shelter poster site with a 3M product called Scotchshield, a see-through film that you can apply to glass which makes it near bullet-proof, and filled the poster site with lots of money ($1,295,344 according to Rain Man).
After that they just sat back and watched the mayhem. As passersby did their best to put the Scotchshield to the test, kicking the glass, hitting it with sledgehammers and going all sorts of crazy over it, the glass withstood the pressures and did not break.
Of course, the PR generated was huge. A local news station even captured one guy on video lunging full speed and kicking the glass, breaking only his foot. I guess the point is, even when you're asked to use traditional media, be curious. There's always another way to look at something.
