We have kept this car for 18 years (1988-2006). It was one of the best car we ever had, my father still missed it even after having khyber and Margalla. My charade had an automatic transmission, which we later on replaced with a Manual tyranny because in those days no mechanic was aware to deal with automatic transmission in Lahore. Secondly, no parts were available for its overhaul of transmission.

@rainer ur a true G10 lover the golden one looked in pretty decent shape too.. dint u have any other way to manage parts than to wreck the golden one?

No, not all the parts I would need for the red G10 we want to restore, there are so many (and extreme rare) parts missing that it is much cheaper to get the golden one and wreck it

So the golden one not only "die" for the red one, all parts we can keep for now our booth G10 Charade's. The golden one we get for a couple of Energy Drinks, and belive me! It was very hard for me to wreck the golden one down, but there was no other way for us, we don't have the space left to keep another car. So we don't have a garage or something like this, we have to rent space for the wintertime for our G10's that they not got frozen. And the law is also very hard about old cars and there storing.

I should maybe better life in Pakistan for this

PS: We currently own 2 Daihatsu Charade G10 and this should be also our maximum.

I am sorry, but for me the G100 GTti is not an option, it makes fun with his small and powerfull engine. I don't know how I should describe it.... Look, the G10 is here where I am from a car you better should wreck and forget, nobody really love this car exept me and maybe 20 other people in the complete country. The G100 GTti is a racer, really many people love it, the love it to increase the engine's power output, the paint it in extreme colors and they want to drive street races with it.

But I don't.

If I want to make a faster drive I will take my Daihatsu YRV GTti with 129HP with a perfect automatic and with all I want.

I want to enjoy the (slow) traveling with my G10, it remembers me to the "good old time" where my Parents had a Shell Fuelstation where I grow up between 1976 and 1983, and this is exactly the year where are our G10's from.

This is the time and the place where I grow up, but this time never comes back so I can only make me happy with my G10 Charade.

Its still with me bro. Drove it 3000 Km in a year and 2 months

No CNG yet, nor i have any plans to install it in near future.

Overall I'm very happy with my car. I love to see many in back view mirror

Had this 1982 two door charade auto, with maroon interior,even the colour was same. good old memories, still remember the reg.no. 142-424. it had monogram at rear XTE.(grade). Very nice car.

& what about millage? is it still gives 7-8kmpl in city?
any trouble yet? . . . i mean SHOCK, GODA Steering etc coz Suzuki FX (its competitor) often gives such kinda problem. . . however repair of FX is cheaper
& any plan 4 engine swap?

Wow!!! however I've never seen any A/T G10 in Rwp/Islamabad & Lahore. . .

Sorry bro for being late to reply.

In normal city driving, it gives around 10Kpl. Its shocks have become slightly harder, but it hasn't given me too many troubles over the year.

No plans for engine swap, the genuine engine rockssssss.

Since 1. April we have a garage where we can do a fully restore of our second G10, a restore better then the one from the blue one is in my mind.

But at first we have to prepare the garage for all the things we have to store and all neccessary things we there need like lights and workbench

Then we put in the rack and our spareparts and worktools

Today our G10 comes into his own garage, for sure the first own garage since 1996.

But before we have to move the G10 to his new home. So the breakes did not work so we must tow it with a towingbar ...

The first steps in the restore process of my wife's G10.

We need more space for all the parts we have, so in our garage still missing the shelves on the left side of our garage, I mean that one:

We had too less time to get such shelves from the shop.
At first we had to sort the parts we shipped to the garage in the last weeks, then we deassamle the doors, specially the pastic clips from the doors.
Gave the doorpanels, door opener and windows lifter into boxes.
But no of this is really interessting for you to make a picture from it.

Petra has removed all the doorpanels, the wishers on front and rear and deassemle the backdoor.

Then we began to deassemble the dashboard, but still don't remove it so we did not have a place left where we can stor it, will wait for the shelves on the left side of the garage.

Came across the discussion. Really very interesting as some really knowledgeable people are on the thread. I own a 1982 Model Charade. I must say that it is a real beauty. It is much comfortable than 2011 Mehran.More Leg space. It has a real solid body. Got it hit by a cultus, only got its bumper a bit damaged. I am posting pics of my car, kindly give comments on the condition of the car and also advice how to improve.

I recognized it from the two lights on the front bumper. And I think you recently got it compounded/polished, so it was looking amazing. I was also driving my 82 charade, same color as yours
